I say obsidian sure there games are buggy but they offer what fallout 3 did not. There open and you can complete them in different ways unlike f3. I also like how open they are.

Obsidian but it will be Bethesda. I am just hoping Bethesda will learn from Obsidian when it comes to making a Fallout. I don't want Fallout 4 to be a TES dressed up to look like Fallout.

I'd rather see Obsidian make it as they seem to have a better grasp on Fallout, but we all know Bethesda is going to be the one to develop it.

Bethesda, though in a perfect world with Obsidian pitching in on the writing.

If nothing else though, I'd prefer Bethesda, they just need to incorporate some of the improvements from New Vegas.

I'd rather have Obsidian and Bethesda cooperate on Fallout 4. Help eachother eliminate their bad sides, because Obsidian is good at what Bethesda is not and vice versa.

Both but Bethesda = for enjoyment and sheer fun Obsidian = coherent world and writing(although Bethesda make better game worlds).

Like, how would Obsidian do a Fallout game if they didn't have to do it along the same design as FO3?
Would it have map nodes again?

So with Bethesda, I know what kinda game they will make, an ES total conversion mod.
But with Obsidian, I dunno, it'd be far more interesting to see what they would come up with if they didn't have to do a total conversion mod for FO3 or Skyrim.

I know what would happen they would lose 70% of there audience overnight if they ditched the "mod for FO3".

Mebbe the two studios can form some kind of super-studio... Employees from both studios come together to establish a Fallout-centric dev team that takes up the sole reins of the franchise... Mebbe some of those guys working on FOOL would even be poached to join up.

Obsidian has a much better grasp on what Fallout is...It'd be like somebody making a book that contradicts everything about Dragonlance and saying: "I was told I could publish this by WotC, so therefore my book is more valid than Weiss and Hickman's, even if it turns Raistlin into a paladin and Tanis into an Orc Fighter!"

Will Bethesda do it? Yes. I think they should hire Obsidian for writers and Bethesda should develop the map.

I can see it now...

"Vault 13...it exists," says a companion.

"My ancestor came from here," replies the protagonist. "I need the data files from the command terminal." And then the protagonist delves into a multi-level dungeon filled with 'vault dwellers'.

Hardly think 70% would leave but even so I'm certain that 70% other kinds of players would love it.

Actually, I don't.
Bethesda will want to stick to the sandbox map, which they are good at.
But I personally don't want a sandbox map, I want a map node system.
So since what Bethesda is good at is something I don't really want in a Fallout game I can't say I want a joint project.
If there's no other way though and it "has to be" a sandbox game then yes to Obsidian as they are the only saving grace for the franchise.
But it will end up being another "the best out of a bad situation" game just like NV was.

I agree I think obsidian betshedsa and inxile should use their rings, when the 3 powers combine they summon the world champion CAPTIAN PLANET!!.... okay maybe not all of you were kids in the 90's....


Okay to be a little bit more serious I agree I think they should get the best of both studios, errr well I guess 3, and take best aspects of fallout 3 and NV.
