Fallout 4 Will Not Have A Playable Demo At GamesCom

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 7:06 am

Darn! I was really hoping for some first hand information from players.

Edit: Actually, after checking the source I'm not sure this is legitimate.

I wasn't expecting it either, I already expect it to be the same kind of demo as E3, just with different content and possible of greater length.

I wonder if they will actually show anything new before launch. I'm sure we'll get some new screenshots or something, but (this maybe just me) but I'm not expecting any more videos.

I doubt they are bringing people behind closed doors to show a bunch of screenshots, its gonna be a new video, the question is how much of new content will be in said new video.

If Im not mistaken Beth has already confirmed its 100% behind closed door. No streaming.

Right, therefore we won't be seeing squat, unless someone manages to get a video of it.

The link refers to the Gamescom show in Cologne, Germany.

Originally read this as Quakecon.... which made me think, who thought gamers would have a user playable demo there? Pretty sure there will be an actual game play session shown on stage next Friday In Dallas, but it will be a Bethesda rep, probably Todd Howard, doing it.

If Bethesda does let players have a go at Fallout 4 prior to release, it would likely be at Pax Prime in Seattle, which is what they did with Skyrim. That's at the end of August....

True, but I assume there is not gonna be a NDA for a showing anyone can attend, so lots of folks can recount details via blogs, etc.

Its going to be an hour long presentation... hard to believe that they are going to show only pictures for 60 minutes.

True. This can bad either bad or good. Things don't always translate true through the graqe vine. We could just end up with more speculation and some false information.

So, they should just record it and put in on Twitch :)

Yes, any information we get from this will come from blogs, magazine articles, etc. unless Beth releases the video on the F4 website at a later date.
I don't think they will show just pictures. What I was saying is, whatever they show there, we who did not attend will not get to see any of it until either Beth releases it on the website or the game launches. Why bother putting it "behind closed doors" if they had intentions of showing it to all of us?

I hope there isn't a playable demo, mainly cuz I'm a selfish [Talcon company merc] but also cuz I don't see Beth then released the same info as they get. I would like a big vid with some Q&A to happen as that would be portable and viewable for most of the fanbase :)

It sounds as if it is mainly for selected press only. The good: more fallout. The bad: press associates really svck at their jobs. The first article you read may be pertinent and a somewhat useful info but they all pretty much read the same after that. Journalists now have the option to fawn over "oohhh open world derp" for several paragraphs and rely on the clickbait for income.
They have no need to do their jobs and if we see really great info it is because Todd has set up the presentation to be that way. Any really good info will always come from end users playing at an open hosting.

Which if ya have half a brain is not a issue since you just use multiple sources, plus its better then nothing, until the video drops a while later.
