Fallout 4 will win Game of The Year?

I think we have our winner right here, I see no other game coming close. What do you think?

Which GOTY? The main one in December? Then probably, but The Witcher 3 has as much chance to win it. And even Metal Gear Solid 5 might get it, no one knows.

It may win judging by the scale of marketing campaign but it would be empty prize from industry for indusrty with purpose of sustaining hype. On this planet $ have more votes than quality, and its really bad

I think the Witcher 3, Metal Gear or even Bloodborne have a better chance. Fallout 4 is good but is still pretty buggy while the other games by this point are a bit more polished.

I think you haven't played Witcher 3. :) I am loving FO4 and it wouldn't shock me if it was GOTY, but Witcher 3 has as good a chance to get that as well.

Also, posts were removed. If you have nothing to add to a thread but a comment that you have posted elsewhere and that you think is clever, I suggest you find a thread you can actually contribute to instead. And no flaming... that means no insulting people.

More than likely. It's enjoyable and stunted porm views, I've seen so many people that never even played New Vegas or 3 that are playing it.

I didn't know there was a "the goty", I thought there were a lot of goty awards given by different magazines... so every strong contender will get one or more goty awards eventually.

It has a good chance but personally I think witcher 3 has a better chance that and bloodborne.

Yea, well at least for me it is which is all I care about. I played witcher 3 and honestly couldnt get into it as it felt like assassins creed to much which I dont like either anymore.

For the gaming world at large? It's going to be difficult to beat the Witcher 3.

For me? Well I really enjoyed W3... but I love Fallout 4. Love it.

Never liked the Witcher series tried to but the combat just doesn't work for me. At the end of the day gameplay is what matters and Fallout 4 and Elder scrolls is just flat better than witcher or bloodborne as far as gameplay so is Destiny.

I'd bet my next year's salary that it will.

Don't be sure about that. Even GTAV didn't win GOTY despite breaking all kinds of records including Guinness world records.

While I support Fallout 4 to win GOTY, 2015 is indeed one of the toughest year.

Lots of good games, MGS, Witcher 3 are among some of the top favourites.

That said, i'm quite sure Fallout 4 can comfortably win a couple of GOTYs

though it is no doubt gonna face some stiff competition.

Would be an easy win had it come out in 2016, but meh! BRING IT ON!!! V(^ ^)

Witcher 3 doesn't have enough replayabilty to win in my opinion. It was amazing the whole way through but after I completed it, all the left over quests and content were too low level for me. Starting a new game in it can be a hassle since the pacing is slower. I could see playing the same old character getting boring as well. Bethesda did their best to ruin replayabilify by putting in their own character but they still don't compare to how predetermined Geralt is.

Graphics, story and writing, optimization, technical polish, are all better than Fallout though but I can't see myself playing it to the same extent, especially because Witcher 3 isn't very moddable.

If Steamspy stats are any measure of a games success then: (as far as PC is concerned anyway)

Witcher 3 Owners - 901,574

MGSV Owners - 591,951

Fallout 4 Owners - 1,844,008 (its been out less than a week and the number keeps growing!)

Also keeping in mind its been recieving glowing reviews since release. It's got a pretty good chance.

Fallout 4 has its flaws, but so do the other two games.. The combat in witcher 3 is atrocious and MGSV has boring repetitive missions (preferred Mad Max to MGSV at the end of the day).

Well, it's shaping up to be MY game of the year... ;)

But doesn't like every gaming magazine and website do their own "GOTY Awards?" It's not like the Oscars or something. Kind of feels like any AAA game that gets released is going to have a GOTY from somebody. I'm sure there's more than one entity that's trying to be taken seriously as the GOTY, but unless I'm missing something I don't think there's any one that's viewed as the definitive arbitrator of the title.

I think things are personally a bit stacked against it.

The Spike TV awards are the biggest in terms of audience and budget since they have a ceremony, but I don't hold them in high regard anymore after Telltale's Walking Dead won GOTY 2012.
