Fallout 4 won't launch after reinstall...help!

Hey everyone, I'm hoping I can get some help with this.

I've been playing Fallout 4 for nearly 200 hours now, and I've recently been encountering some issues. This has been a sporadic issue for a while now.

What was happening is I'd open Steam, start the game, and the launcher screen would pop up. I'd hit play and then it'd go to the black screen, but it wouldn't move past that. The mouse cursor 'loading ring' would just sit there and keep spinning. I'd have to ctrl+alt+del out of the page because it wouldn't let me minimize it, and even after that I wasn't able to end the program in the task manager. I'd have to actually restart that computer to get it to close a lot of the time. Other times the game would start up, but I wouldn't have any audio. I've checked with several other games, and I don't seem to be having any issues like this with anything else. There have been times that I've had to restart my computer 4-5 times to get the game to run. Other times the game would start up just fine.

So I figured deleting and reinstalling the game might resolve the issue. I backed up my game files, and reinstalled it. Now when I try to play the game, I can get to the FO4 launcher screen. When I hit play a window immediately pops up saying 'Fallout 4 has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution to the problem." And then the message changes to "A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I'm not the most knowledgeable with computers, so I'm at a loss as to how to resolve this.

Info that might be relevant -

I'm using an ASUS N-550J laptop with Windows 10 and the following specs -

Intel Core i7 processor

NVIDIA Geforce 750M GPU

1 Tb hard drive

8 gb ram

Any help would be very much appreciated. I'm experiencing withdrawal symptoms already lol
