fallout 1 or 2 as xbox dlc?

Post » Tue Dec 08, 2009 7:03 pm

I'm new to the Fallout world, but am into Fallout 3 100hrs +. I'm looking forward to the Pitt content.
I was wondering how likely it would be for the first 2 games to be available on Xbox Live to download.
Do you need a keyboard to play the games? I'm not really much of a computer person, I favor the consoles
so I thought I'd see if anyone has heard anything.

Very unlikely.

Most people who have a gaming console also have a computer that can run the original Fallouts, which can still be purchased. Given that interested persons are likely to be able to play the game already porting it seems like a lot of effort for little return, particularly given that porting the game is likely to be difficult.

While I'm sure Bethesda would have to sign off on it, I'm pretty sure if the games were ported to the console it would be Interplay's responsibility to do this.

And given that the source code is likely lost, it would have to pretty much be coded from scratch.

And yes, if you have a computer good enough to post in this forum, it's most likely also good enough to play Fallout.

As others said, not likely.
However I would be in line with you to spend my m$ points if it ever did happen : )

I can testify! I've got a fairly old POS and I can get it to run Fallout and Fallout 2. I can also tweak it to run some newer (up to 2006) games, but it gets testy with those. But, FO and FO2 are great!

Re: Xbox Live. I don't see that happening.

Yeah, probably not very likely. Still, if it did happen, I'd still be in line to buy it.

(Who knows, at this point a turn-based Fallout game would be the "spin-off." I'll admit it's highly unlikely, but it would be neat to see a turn-based game in the Fallout universe released on Arcade. I can dream...)

Very unlikely.

If your that interested in the previous Fallout games, and your from the UK or Ireland, you can get Fallout Collection from GAME.
