Fallout 4 Yes you heard me! Not a troll

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:09 am

Ok so I was visiting my daily Fallout 3 websites and I come across a certain quote made by Bethesda's own Todd Howard:

Gamers have been waiting 10 years for Bethesda Softworks' "Fallout 3," for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. "I think it's good for people to miss things," said Todd Howard, executive producer of the game. "Ten years between 'Fallout' is a bit long, but I think there's this nostalgia factor." Fans of the post-Apocalyptic game, set in Washington, D.C., won't have to wait another decade for "Fallout 4." Howard said he believes three years is a good time frame between games.

What is your response to this quote of epic importance? I know some traditional Fallout fans even hate Fallout 3 for keeping the "Fallout" name. So for great justice let the Fallout 4 countdown begin. Until then see you later :bolt:

Yeah Fallout 3 will be awesome, but Bethesda announcing a sequel makes me giddy inside. Sorry if this topic is a little to early.

"Fallout 4 is going to be a struggle between the love of a man (17) and a woman (65). They want to get married but are exiled from the space station of Japie22 because of their love. The man is going to collect 9 rare stones from different planets to make a big piece of sushi appear that grants them a wish. which he will use to detonate a nuke in the town they were living in.. hence "fallout" ' by Todd Howard.
Wow!! sounds awesome....

My point is. Almost everything written on the internet should be questioned... if Todd Howard said this on a website.. he would have announced it on the official site.

Trust me, another TES game is due before the next gen comes (ps4, xbox 720?) It is just a matter of time. They have done multiple projects before, but I doubt they would do a TES sequel and a Fallout sequel at the same time.

They said in one of the interviews that they wanted another IP to sort of alternate with TES so they didn't get burned out on a single franchise.

So likely TES V after Fallout 3, then Fallout 4, then TES VI, etc. =p

I found the quote on planetfallout. Freaking flood control. Ok this was quoted during an interview by reuters(never even heard of them, just kidding). Feel free to read it. Some other interesting stuff in the article.

Sorry my original article was wrong. I had to correct it.

Whaddaya know... and 3 years is also a good timeline for computer replacement. My current system was built specifically for FO3, so my next will be for FO4...

Yup

I had already read that statement tonight about an hour or two before this post

It won't (and wouldn't) surprise me, especially if FO3 does well, that there will be more Fallout titles to come

Just like I'm sure there will be a TES V :)

Whatt will return from Fallout 3? Maybe an updated version of VATS? Hopefully a new physics system and animation system. If they don't have one by then that is not a good sign. But let's be optomistic. "It shall be one game to rule them all" "My ... my precious"

Off course! if they are in the business of making money! (and I'm sure (like every healthy company) are!) :) let's just hope they don't [censored] things up in this game or others, so the fans don't have to suffer. (EA syndrome anyone?)

Bethesda has a history of making successful (lots of cash) games. This will continue, but I still think they got a bargain for the Fallout license.

Not bad news. Then I suppose a Fallouit 4 is about four years away, especially if there's an Elder Scrolls title in between Fallout 3 & 4 (these days around there seems to be roughly 2-3 years between every Bethesda title).

Indeed so. All we can get from this is that Todd would like to work on a sequel some day. But there's no info if they are working on it now, or will work on it soon or anything of substance. Todd also said that three years is a good time frame between games, but no word if this is what will actually happen or if it's just wishful thinking.

I've read that they bought the rights for three fallout titles only, and the original owner has retained MMPOG rights. Someone on Beth staff has said in one of these interviews around here that they hope to alternate TES and FO titles.

Re: FO4 it's my sincere hope that now that they have the fundamentals hammered out that they keep with them and focus on expanded story and gameworld content almost completely in the next releases. This is a large part of what made me very enthusiastic about RPGs of the Fallout era. They made sequels rather than trying to streamline/make accessable/redefine.

Oh, and I'm liking Alaska for FO4, plenty of black helicopter myths up there and real close to the China storyline (maybe a great way to expose some of our youths to the culture of our next big competitor)

Yes it probably is wishful thinking (I can hear my hopes and dreams being crushed), but then again why buy the Fallout license if you are only going to make one game. Same with TES, they bought the license, turned into a successful series and another is expected in the next 5yrs.

Okay that's enough for me I need sleep. Goes to sleep and dreams of :fallout:

I read that they bought the IP outright and leased it back to Interplay, for a fee ~ A fee they lose if they don't produce an MMO by 2010.

Exactly! If this game doesn't make enough money a sequel made by Bethesda will be questionable. I'm confident there will be a a sequel though, Bethesda is a good company that is able of making good games. :)
