I like the gray and gray morality too, I just wish there was more cause and effect in the world itself. A handful of companions is not much.

agreed. These binary choices in games have grown tired. It was an amusing idea back in the day with some of bioware's earlier works. No one wakes up in the morning and says "you know? I'm gonna be evil today" that's just not how people operate, even the most depraved among our species don't see themselves in that light. I don't want to lose karma cause I snatched a few rounds of ammo out of someone's house to kill the murderous deathclaw that is lurking outside, that is a matter of pure survival. I don't want to gain Karma because I chose to not sell some kid to a group of raiders, since I am being entirely self serving and just want either caps or banking a future favor with the parents. So yeah, binary morality choices need to die.
Oh, totally. Don't get me wrong, the lack of consequences in Bethesda's 'Fallout' world is one of my biggest gripes and one of their greatest failings.
