Hello all,
Just experiencing some annoying problems with fallout 3. I just finished downloading fallout 3 from steam and have been trying to play the game for a few hours now. I have tried many fixes to no avail. These include the ffdshow fix, multi core fix, desktop composition fix. compatibility mode fix, and run in administrator mode. I'm stuck and need help as i love this game. Your constructive feedback is much appreciated. below is my system.

Oh yeah just to make it a bit more clear. The issue is when i try to start the program. I press play on the startup menu and the screen goes blank and then windows pops up and says that the program has stopped working.

G'day all,

I'm also having the same exact problem with opening the goty edition in Windows 7. My system is very similar to MIAgrain's.

I found that if I run the game in Windows Vista compatability mode, I can play the game for a few minutes before it crashes.
I also found that I cannot run the game in High Quality at all, even though my system is more than capable of doing so.

Would be much appreciated if someone could help solve our problem.

G'day MIAgrain et all,

I've tried using the following methods (outlined at http://www.sevenforu...-quad-core.html) to try to fix the issue, as of yet, none have prevailed;

- Changing the Fallout3.ini file to force the game to use 2 cores instead of 4
- 1.7 Update (UK & US)
- Updating Drivers

My patience is drawing to an end.

Please help.
