FalloutNV has stopped working

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 6:49 am

I bought the game off steam and I haven't even been able to get the game to even run yet because i get a "falloutnv has stopped working" messege right when I launch the game.

I have tryed validating the files on steam and It says one file can't be validated (Idk if that has anything to do with the problem)

ive tryed everything like trying to run it in windows sp3 mode and windows vista sp2 mode. it just doesn't work.

I have Windows 7 64 bit btw. Its just so annoying how I buy this game on steam and it doesn't even work.

Please if you have anything that could help me out to try to fix this.

If and when a complete problem report, including the standard PC Gaming Computer hardware component summary, and a routine software environmental description is provided, then perhaps someone here will be able to offer a suggestion. Sorry to have nothing else for you now.

You can surf these forums and try the various fixes but if you have my luck none of them will work. I have the exact issue that you are seeing.

Here is a website with some fixes listed obviously it's not a comprehensive list but it will give you some ideas... http://segmentnext.com/2010/10/19/fallout-new-vegas-errors-crashes-freezes-fixes/

Personally I am just going to install XP..

I see that this is a problem for alot of people. I have been to that link that the person above me posted and none of the solutions helped me fix my problems. From the looks of things, I am probably just going to have to wait until someone decides to fix the problems that this game has especially the ones that are keeping people from even starting up the game.

The one file not being able to verify isn't the problem. Mine kept doing that and I figured out it was a problem with a video codec that I had to uninstall. My FalloutNV works fine now, and it will still say 1 file fails to verify if I check it.
