Falmer confirmed

Post » Fri Sep 02, 2011 4:35 am

Even if they were elegant to begin with, you'd think that with lots of their race wiped out and the fact that they've been in hiding for years that they don't have time for bathing or even the pursuit of beauty. I'm sure they have other concerns like survival perhaps.

EDIT: Survival situations have been known to turn people barbaric.

Probably meant right trigger to equip to right hand.

Oh man, really liked the stuff here.

And since Nords claim reiklings are falmer both due to the ancient wars with them and out of a sense of 'elves are [censored]s," I'd assume that's what they meant. But all the rest is just real nice.

Geee... Figures that instead of a "mystery of the far north" and something magical an interesting Beth will turn them in to another breed of goblins... Like we don't have plenty of thous. How do the end up that way if they where elves to begin with? :shakehead: Disappointing - instead of history, mystery and legensd of the snowprirnce and the like we get spider heads and icy goblins.

It's likely what happened to them is explained in the game, probably even part of some quests.

Damn Iv'e gotta stop coming on these forums, I'll have nothing left to surprise me when the game comes out >_<

Yea it was on the official page, but then got taken down. Anyone still have it? I really hope there's a questline for the Falmer.

Whoah... 'likely', 'probably'? BS :shakehead:.

Where are you getting this from... because if anything it's UNLIKELY. It just looks like they thought "Falmer right?" and the art director didn't bother checking up the lore so gave it to his concept artists. And the concept artist drew some mangly looking pale goblin. That's all it is.

So...the falmer are now Reiklings? I hope it was a case of the writer of the article not know what a Reikling was.

Y'all need to play Bloodmoon. As always, the Nords and Altmer have the opposite views. Since it's in Skyrim, most people (and apparently the game itself) will be going with the Nordic one. Altmer say that Falmer just bred into other elven races and stopped existing as a distinct culture. Nords say they got their asses kicked and the hard lives scraping by in barrows and caves turned them into another breed of frost goblin. I also tend to agree with the latter because I like how TES elves tend to be [censored]s with no self-awareness of said tendency. Like real people.

The Falmer don't sound like the traditional Mer at all. Now don't bring up Orsimer, they are called corrupted elves for a reason.

Everything you just said you made up. You have no clue what you are talking about. Stop being a hypocrite. It's annoying.

Also, they probably thought they were falmer because their target said "falmer".

Disappointing. Lore states that the Falmer were proud Elvish warriors, relying on both intellect and sheer skill to aid them in battle. Not goblin-ish troglodytes. I've also seen concept art of the Falmer...they are no longer blue...they are a flesh color and resemble vampire bats. Lore's Falmer were an icy blue.

If you were forced to hide all these years, you'd start looking like a goblin too.

Yes! Falmer are confirmed!

No! They are just generic goblin replacements!

I'm torn about this info. If I'd have wanted to kill goblins I'd go cave diving in Oblivion. If I wanted to kill little blue goblins which may or may not be related to Falmer I'd play Bloodmoon or Shadowkey.

I really hope that there's far, far more to them then just always-hostile enemies. The mystery of the Falmer and the debate around them will evaporate. They're mer! Kin to Altmer, Bosmer, Dunmer, Dwemer, Chimer, Maormer! They should not be reduced to near-mindless animals.

Lore's Falmer were never blue. That's fan speculation based on Rieklings from Bloodmoon.

It makes sense for modern Falmer to be degenerate and weird looking - they've been hiding under ground for the past 4,000 years. That ain't good for your complexion.

P.S. :celebration:

Hey, if you had to go into hiding for years and years on end without the snow to comfort you, you'd start to look like a goblin too, y'know. :P

Oh my bad I didn't even read the part where they were just random enemies not some sort of small community.

Oh well, sharpening my blade skills on them is just as good as doing fetch quests for them ;)
