Honestly if rockpapershotgun called them the wrong thing i will personally hunt down that journalist
Wouldn't be the first time a journalist got something incorrect.

Honestly, I prey to [censored] Nurgle that the journalist mistook the reiklings as falmer if they are short and blue.

[censored], it doesn't sound like they're very sentient anymore. Maybe capable of language or at least culture, but goblins had culture too. I was really hoping for a quest that would allow you to either help a lost tribe of isolationist Falmer get back on their feet, or exterminate them. I guess there's still hope, maybe some Falmer won't be immediately hostile. Maybe there's that one Falmer outpost guardsman that hesitates before he fires an arrow at you and unintentionally sparks a dialogue.

This. I couldn't agree more. There is a culture to discover there, so I hope I'll pe afforded the opportunity to discover it.

I suppose it's logical that millenia of hiding in the darkest places may have stripped them off a part of their dignity, but perhaps there is somewhere a tribe of Falmers who hasn't had to hide for millenia, either in Atmora or on Roscrea? The ones with whom snow walks and blizzards dance. The powerful, dreadful, noble beings of the kind described in the Fall of the Snow Prince. Perhaps some DLC will allow us to help them avenge their diminished relatives, or fight them, or try to seal a peace treatise. I just hope they won't all be just there to be killed and then looted...

There's still hope... *Starts praying to Kyne and Mara*

Hopefully Skyrim will supply us with new lore on the Falmer instead of just using them as a Goblin substitute. I hope we learn more about their decline from a sentient race to goblin-like savages.

This^^ i really want to know more about falmer as well.

The author didn't actually describe them as short.

Or blue for that matter.

Yet that is what I kept hearing about them. I admit I am rather underwhelmed by the article's description:

As the fight moves on we face Falmer, “twisted, evil creatures that dwell in Skyrim’s deepest reaches” and which basically look like goblins wearing spider’s faces as helmets...

I don't know a whole lot about the lore, and haven't been following this much, but I still had a basic picture in my mind of what I expected to see. What they described isn't it.

why is everyone misusing the word "sentient"?

they're conscious creatures, im sure they feel things, have senses, etc... they're living creatures that think atleast to some degree, therefore they are sentient.

please, people... use a dictionary. :read:
