[WIPz] Famous Battles of Cyrodiil Thread III

I'm with Rocknroll, if you can draw in some new modders and get more attention out there it'll certainly make things easier. Don't forget I can always do retextures for you guys, that's about as much as I can now though.

Transport system? Anything I can help with, considering I'm putting my part of the project on hold for reasons mentioned in a previous post, I would still like to help. Fire away!

Oh, no it's really nothing you need to worry about. Unless you know why the result script for dialogue is running before the dialogue is spoken.

It shouldn't be. I've only done a small amount of dialogue but it never did that.

I'm guessing this isn't compatible with Kvatch Rebuilt...
Unless I read the description wrong :|

Ah well, I could probably play this but not finish it.

Edit: I did read it wrong, sorry :(

The mod looks really good ;)

Do we get to keep the armour in it? I know it doesn't really make sense, but it'd svck to have special armour and only get to see it once.

That's cool, you had me worried there for a second! :)

About the armour, yes you will lose it intially. However, you'll have another chance to get the armor at the end of the mod, if you know where to look.

Unfortunately, this would lead to a spoiler, so I won't reveal anymore. But yes, you will be able to get the special armour back.

Demo is almost done guys; hang in there!

I have a question for you guys are you annoyed that I just kind of left the project? I found that you guys were all doing scripting and didn't need me to help you with any military things.

Annoyed, no. I just don't understand, have you ever given a stab at modding? You know just putting stuff into the world, we could do the rest of course, but it would help with loads of the work. It seems like you kind of left without actually trying to start on a battle of your own. Just a suggestion, we really need helping hands around here.

cobb: rokknroll4 is being too nice. I was not too happy when you left the project. Normally, I'd be okay, but you didn't really do anything to help this project. You didn't even offer to help out with the modding at all, nor did you even inform me that you were quitting. I wish you could have at least tried to mod. As for the scripting thing, you could have at least asked me if there was anything to do before you quit. Like rokknroll said, I was counting on the entire team for help once school started up.

So, sorry, but I've taken your name off the list and will not be listing you as a team member. Sorry for being harsh, but I just don't feel like you made any contribution.

Anyway, the demo is now done; I'll release it later today. :)

I'll be the first to comment on behalf of the team with a FINALLY! It seems like a long time since I joined this team, but its been nothing in the face of what you guys have done, Kroot has finished his battle (and is releasing the demo), and Uglulyx was an amazing contributer despite the fact that he recently left. I now see nothing but good in the future of this project, good work team!

I feel like thats a little harsh, I think cobb came with the intention of helping but is overestimating the difficulty of basic level modding, or underestimating his own ability to pick up on modding, so he applied what he knew, military stuffs, to our project, which we incorporated very little of due to restrictions of the engine. What kroot is (probably) saying (I know I can't speak for him), but when we're scrounging for capable modders, we expect them to mod, we asked you a few times to try and mod but you never responded, then you left without telling us, this is where I can't speak for Kroot because I don't really know the position hes in, but thats just my two cents on the issue, if you ever feel like doing some actual mod work, we could always use a hand.

That's great guys! Congratulations on making it this far! I hope you get plenty of downloads and get more people interested in this genius mod. I can't wait to try my own hand at the battles, either. :)

Once again, great work!

Damn it all hell with this mod. It has taken several months and little has been done show for it that is why I left not because I found nothing I could do I was just tired of the progress and lack of material. Now since we are on opposite sides of the U.S. and dueling is illegal we cannot make use of my dueling pistols to settle this argument like gentlemen.
Have fun.

I wasn't annoyed with you, but you just crossed the line, I tried to be nice about it and invited you back to the team if you were willing to mod, good mods take time, you should know that, we all made our progress no thanks to you, we all have something to show for our work, but little ruts in the road kept us from releasing it. The demo comes out today, you don't have to play it, but this was at one time your mod too, prepare to eat your words you insensitive bastard. Maybe your comments would mean something had you actually done anything for this team. Seriously? Settle this like gentlemen? A gentleman would have left the team like Uglulyx did, respectfully. Go to hell.

Kroot, just forget about him, today is a huge milestone in our mod, and things will move along faster and hopefully we will increase interest in this mod.

Ok, sorry guys, I didn't see that response coming. I tried to be as nice as possible while still telling the honest truth.

I'm with rokknroll: go to hell.

(Dueling pistols? What century are you in?)

Sorry again guys; I didn't mean for this to get out of hand.

Anyway, as soon as I can get the file up and running, we'll be good to go. I might or might not start a new thread for the release...idk.

Edit: Roknroll4, what was that last thing you said? Something mitchman...

BTW: I'm glad you liked it Gangsta. Sorry if I haven't gotten back to you on that University mod. I have really limited computer time, and this mod has taken up the last few times I've modded.

Like it? I love it! I've been with you guys since thread one (I think...) and always considered this mod very interesting, and filling a gap that was surely lacking in the modding scene. I will definitely enjoy playing out this (and hopefully subsequent) battles and LEARN some lore about what exactly happened, etc. With so many great mod projects being abandoned and completely destroyed (The Art of Battle, BRAINS, and so many more) every day, it's great to see you guys actually do this thing, and get this far, even without the late spoken support of the modding community. Let me tell you, it's a heart-warming sight, and it gives me just that bit of resolve needed to continue with my own modding career. Kroot, rokknroll4, Uglulyx, cobb, and anyone else who contributed; you all have done such amazing work on this. I really hope it pays off.

Theres nothing for you to apologize for when it comes to UoC; just seeing you show some responsibility for it is good enough in my book. Mod it whenever you have the time; but don't let other more important things, including your own projects get in the way. So again, there's no need to be sorry.

Let's leave discussions like these for their relevant threads. I wouldn't want to clutter this up anymore.

BRAINS was abandoned? :cryvaultboy: I will be honest, I'm quite surprised the Oblivion modding community is still in such great shape. The games been out for what feels like forever and still new innovations are being made. It makes me wonder how long the next TES game's modding community will last.

Lol I said in b 4 Mitchman, you know that guy whos always asking us how close we are to the demo, and when we finally said it was almost done he said this:
YAY!!

So yeah I thought he would be spamming up the place, with "release it now" or "where is the link, I can't seem to find it" or something along those lines but apparently news hasn't reached him yet -_-

Kroot, rokknroll4, Uglulyx, cobb, and anyone else who contributed; you all have done such amazing work on this. I really hope it pays off.

Just fixed what I believe was a typo -_- hehe.

EDIT: You should start a new thread a [WIPz/RELz] Thread probably, just that little tag can attract so much attention. We will quickly meet our limit if we stay here.

I see the file on TES Nexus, no actual file yet though. Whenever it's up and running I'll give it a shot and maybe even get some epic screens for it. You only included the Sancre Tor battle in the demo right?

Yeah, only Sancre Tor, our team was kind of falling apart and we didn't have time to finish the Elsweyr battle before it fell apart completely, this is just to get some increased interest and hopefully a (new) team.

That's what I had figured. Maybe a [DEMO] Thread would held get some traffic.

Yeah thats better than my idea, I don't even know what half of those tags mean, for example why does one put a z on the end of REL or WIP, and what does REL mean anyway (I always assumed it was release). I guess when everyone got the memo I was gone...
