Fan Fav NPC's That You Hated

Post » Tue Jan 26, 2016 3:57 pm

Vex - Sure she can be a bit sassy, but I don't think it's too bad. She does get sarcastic with Delvin too which I find humorous. :)

Sapphire - I don't hate her and she does warm up to you after a time, but she never does tell you where she got her name from/ true name

Cicero - Yes. Very irritating ans whiny voice. Interesting clothes though

Aela - All the Companions talk down to you until you make your way up their ranks. I think it's just intended that way. The whole lot warm up to you as you make your way up the ranks.

Ulfric - It's intended that way, I think. Intended to make him look like he's only rebelling to get the throne for himself. The conceited attitude of the leaders in each side of the civil war is what stops my characters from helping either side. I wish your character could be just like Talos in that respect too and try to unite everyone yourself.

Astrid - My only problem with her was that she got too paranoid in the DB questline, but of course it was part of their story. Otherwise, sixiest voice in the game IMO. :) The DB quests themselves is what got me to start annihilating that guild.

Karliah - This one is the opposite. A lot of people actually hate her because she shoots you instead of the other guy. I actually liked her.

Rolff Stone-Fist - I dislike this guy with a vengeance after the treatment my Argonian character got from him. Challenged him to a brawl and some mod glitch/ bug caused him to pull a dagger each time, where he reneged on his bet. Top it all off with him being essential for what reason I do not know.

Ahtar - First two times meeting this guy he came across as arrogant. Saying he's just doing his duty, also complains about Jaree-Ra and does nothing about him.

I know Valerica didn't lock Serana in that box for 4000 years to protect her from Lord Harkon. It was because she got tired of hearing, "Yes, what did you need?" :glare:

I don't like any of the NPCs in any game I've ever played, from the SSI Gold Box games through BG 1 and 2 through all the TES games up to the present beginning with Arena - and add to that WoW and RIFT.

I like Aela but she is hopeless as an follower as she tend to fall to far behind, this get her stuck in path finding often, also she refused to jump down even if its the only path in dungeons.

Yes as an fairly sneaky archer she would be the perfect companion but I find he pretty useless

These are the only two I can think of as well that meet the OP's criteria of being liked by most. Mjoll made a good first impression but after traveling with her for thirty minutes you were plotting ways to ditch her or push her off a cliff. I never understood the popularity of Serana with her constant complaining and predilection for raising every corpse we came across. I think while traveling with her half the 'enemies' I managed to kill turned out to be her risen pets.

There were other NPCs I didn't like, of course, but those are the only two 'popular' NPCs that I can think of that I didn't care for.

Oh, add Ulfric to the list. Lots of folk liked him, I didn't.

Agreed. Though I never turn down the quest because I love Dawnbreaker.

Lydia - I absolutely cannot *stand* Lydia. Urrrgh! She probably wouldn't have annoyed me near as much if I weren't forced to put up with her living with my characters in the tiniest house available, in which she constantly sits either next to or *inside* my character's bedrooms lurking over them and doing nothing but eating bread and making the same inane comments over and over and over again. (The housecarl in Riften is nearly as hated for the same reason.) I hate all of the housecarls, but I especially loathe Lydia. In my current console game, she's getting shipped off to the Blades as soon as the option becomes available. If it doesn't become available because I'm *not* doing a certain thing that this stupid woman insists on (with as immaturity as possible) then I'll just avoid ever going into Breezehome and just view it as a cursed place even worse than the Abandoned House in Markarth.

Delphine - Hate her. I used to really like the Blades in general, but Delphine has single-handedly ruined my whole perception of and attitude towards them. (Not sure she's really liked by anyone, so she may not actually be a "fan favorite".

Astrid - Outside of needing to join the DB for achievements and/or to get Shadowmere, even my assassin characters don't like her and can't respect her. She's about as unprofessional as one can get and with "leaders" like her, it's no wonder the DB is a failure. Outside of needing the DB for something, even my assassin characters choose to kill her and bring down what has become the worst assassin organization (and I say that loosely) ever in the history of TES.

Lydia wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't for the fact that she hangs out in my room. The girl has her own room. At least other housecarls will get up, sweep the floor, make food, but Lydia just sits in my room day and night eating. Watching me sleep. Watching me dress. It's kind of creepy.

It seems like some of us are just listing NPCs we don't like.

Anyway, I guess I'll agree with some others here and say Sheogorath.

I think Sheogorath is one of the most poorly-written characters in the Elder Scrolls series. His characterization and dialogue are juvenile and shallow. He strikes me as being a 13-year-old boy's notion of what "a mad guy" sounds like.

I think he's actually kind of an insult to people with genuine mental health problems. I am embarrassed for Bethesda's writers when I interact with him and, to be honest, he is one of the main reasons why I have never been able to finish Shivering isles.

His interactions border on lol random, which is okay in small doses (and like http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/zimwiki/images/4/4f/GIR_-_Dog_Suit_Art.png/revision/latest?cb=20120509233300 of lol random humor, it's somewhat justified) but gets really tiring after constant exposure to it.

Otherwise, see Pseron's response. With Skyrim and especially ESO, it just seems like they're trying to milk this character and I just plain dislike him now. At least in ESO you're supposed to dislike him.

Most of the npc's I don't like are ones most people dislike. Such as Nazeem, Braith, and Maven Black-Briar.

Also on my "list" are Ulfric, Astrid, Delphine, and Elisif.

Delphine. Want. To. Kill. She's so arrogant towards a person who could flatten her in the blink of an eye. I hate that woman.

How Astrid became leader of a Brotherhood Sanctuary is beyond me. Marked for death in my games.

Elisif is a nice girl but she's not fit to be the Jarl of Solitude. I guess game time places us into the story before she could be replaced. No way she'd ever be Queen.

Ulfric Stormcloak. Just.. I'm not going there. This topic starts unwanted arguments.

Serana.... we're fighting an Elder dragon and you resurrect a B.U.N.N.Y ....seriously. I know she has some of the best dialogue, but her AI is as bad as the rest of the followers and seems worse than some.

Other than that, the rest of the NPC"s i dont like are generally disliked anyway.

I've only played Skyrim for a month so I don't know who the fan Favorites are but the NPC I dislike the most is SIBBI BLACK-BRIAR.

After I do his quest and of course lie about the location of his ex-wife I shot an arrow through the bars of his cell.

Degenerate piece of sh+.

Grelod the Kind is actually a favorite of mine in a comedic way (Heck Riften as a whole agrees). Funny enough you kill her but when you loot her she carries a book called "The Pig Children."

Gets me every time. XD
