Fantastic game.

I just thought I would make a brief post today to express my thoughts regarding Skyrim.

I am almost 40 years old and have been gaming for many a year , not as much in recent years due to family/work etc.

I had the chance this weekend to play more than usual and I have to say , I dont think I have ever been as captivated by game as I have been the last few days, I have certainly never felt the need to make a post in a forum about it.

I would like to thank Bethesda for releasing what I perceive to be a masterpiece of the gaming world , one that will be talked about for many years to come.

I look forward to the continuing evolution of Skyrim , when you consider the modding community and future DLC's , the potential is huge....

Great game, and i think in time it will become a landmark RPG from which all RPG's of it's type are judged.

Are there things other developers do better? Hell yes, but the overall package is unmatched by any other in my opinion.

41 years old here and i feel the same. In my opinion the difference between this game and countless other that i played is that this game have some kind of "soul"
NPCs do things for a reason, the quest are involving (at least in my opinion).

This, really. Finally a thread with people appreciating this game for what it is. Now just wait for the [censored]storm of whiners telling you why you shouldn't enjoy this game.

Great game, great atmosphere. I love to dive into Skyrim, wear my heavy armor, grab my sword and hunt dragons and mysteries hidden in this fantasy world. A masterpiece! Many thanks Bethesda!

Im 43 i think its that the older you are the more you can appreciate what a bad game is.Back in the 80/90s even the thought of a game like skyrim was almost inconcievable.Compared to the unpatched alpas and betas i grew up on skyrim is a joy to play and the developers should be very proud of it.

don't understand why people are so obsessed with having this game "appreciated". There is no need for it, this game has already got a reputation for being awesome. So don't be a [censored], and allow people to make constructive criticisms of the game. Its a rpg ffs, not a competitive rts game where balance is top priority, so you don't have to ruin every discussion that deals with improving the game by adding content or improving certain things

@ OP: glad your enjoying the game :)

44 Here ands love that Game.

Example : At some Point i attacked an Person while in an Dragonfight.

So i wander around and visitid the first Town in Game as the Guards suddenly attack me. Okay no Problem i tought and slaugterd all 3 of em.

Now come the funny Part:

As i visited the Town next Time, there where 2 Thiefs who had an Camp in front of the Town and where doing there Buisiness in Town.

So no Guards = Thiefs in Town.

For me its just an amazing Programming done.

OMG this place is full of Draugr.

Yep, been playing a lot if my time and wife allows it. ;) The "complains" I have can be fixed by mods and as soon as the CK is released I'll be modding most of the time anyway. :)

Only 33 here myself, but old enough to have been with pc-gaming from the getgo. And yes, the older you get, the less whining and the more appreciative methinks... ;)

You young whipper snappers and your gaming shenanigans. 18 here and one of the best TES yet. My friend figured that since oblivion had 100 hours of main quest, and he played for like 5 years, that skyrim with it's 300 hour main quest he will be playing it for like 15 years lol

29 here and I freaking LOVE this game. Really cant get over the wierd things people are complaining about, you would honestly think in some cases that the game was 100% unplayable!!- but everyone is entitled to their opinion, and mine is that this is a masterpeice!!

I would like to thank the OP for making me feel young (32), and then agree with them that this game rocks. It has been a long time since I could put more then 60 hours into a game, this game is so good that I am at 76 hours and it still feels like I am just scratching the surface. Say what you want about BEth, they put together a very fun game.

Cheers right back to you and great that you got the chance to really get into it. Life gets so busy. I'm having a blast myself and keep finding more to learn. All the activity around the game like people being inspired by the music and the funny Youtube videos and everything else really makes it a great event and (mostly) a big party. I love these open world games. I hope you find lots of time to play - and there are lots of 40 year olds here...all the way up to people in their 70s.

I'd like to thank everyone for making me feel young (25). ^^

Gotta agree, it's a damn fine game, even though there are some things I'd love (more NPCs, more factions and realtions between em, srsly bring back Morrowind in this regard), but for me the dungeon design is the best I've ever seen in an RPG. Never before was I venturing through dungeon after dungeon and in 1 out of 2 just stood still, admired a room of it and thought to myself "woah". There are more great additions to the TES series in this game, but the dungeon design superseeds every last one of them!

24 here and while I have criticized some parts of the game ( people mistake this for whining) I still love it. The only reason you see a lot of criticism is because there is so many die hard fans. And there is always things that can be improved. It does no good to say you love the game and there's nothing wrong with it. Everyone here loves the game but you better believe there are things that can be done better.
