Fast travel carriage

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 2:37 am

I hope this kind of travel will be like GTA taxi rides, where you can sit in the the taxi and watch the world go by or skip it altogether.

Also I hope if you sit an watch to where your going, bandits should attack and try to rob you.

You could attack an help defend, pay them of with money, run away and leave them to there fate or threaten them to leave and give you the loot they had gotten from other hijackings.

So what you guys think?

What would be awesome is picking off bandits with your bow while in the carriage.

Twilight Princess had a fun part in the game where you had to do that.

Oh and sometimes a giant should come along and attack the carriage, knocking it off the road and shattering it and killing all the other people but you and then you have to kill the giant or flee. Also, random dragon attacks would work with that too.

Well to be fair, there is usually at least one fight like that in each Zelda game since Ocarina of Time (except Windwaker? I can't remember if Windwaker had one or not) It's definitely a fun thing to do.

I hope the carriage system means there will be a mode similar to hardcoe mode in NV that restricts fast travel or takes it out all together. It was confirmed that there is Fast Travel in Skyrim, but not confirmed if there will be a mode that takes fast travel out completely which is what I hope for. I don't have the self control not to use fast travel but at the same time I wish it wasn't in the game. My two cents

There could be a quest with that kind of play protect the carriage until it gets somewhere safe.

Bandits on horse back chasing you though the mountains while your franticly trying to pick em off, before they get too close to jump on to the carriage.

If they do get on turns in to hand to hand combat trying to knock them off.

It would also be cool for rogue characters to be able to attack and rob carriages. Because hopefully there will be other carriages moving around. It would be stupid to have only one moving carriage in the game.

about the zelda thing...WHAT?
are you for real? where do you come up with this stuff.
you have obviously never played any of the games previous to TP.

about the other stuff....sure, sounds fun, and most of the dragons are unscripted so bring it on.

Umm lol? How have I not played any games prior to TP? I've played all the games, starting with the NES, then the N64 games, windwaker, twilight princess and all the DS and gameboy games. Obviously YOU haven't played any of them before TP. Do you not remember from Majora's Mask for example? You have to help protect the wagon with the shipment of milk and shoot at the bandits that are trying to break all the containers so that she can't sell the milk in town and ruin her ranch? Can instead of coming into a thread and always attacking me and saying I don't know what I'm talking about (though everytime you do your proven wrong), you could just come in and leave a nice polite post?

I'm really hoping for dragon attacks though if you can ride in real time in the wagon. That would be sweet.

thats nothing like the carriage chase. and those were aliens not bandits. i know, weird decision on miyamotos part i guess it was a joke about cow mutilations...dark joke for a dark game.
again, where did this come from?
[edit] ok, forgot what happened after that. i humbly apologize.

Personally, and perhaps this is just me, but carriages don't really seem liked they would fit in Skyrim. Cyrodiil? Sure. But Skyrim? This province is supposed to be rugged, primitive, and battered, yet having a natural beauty to it. Ultimately, I suppose it will depend on the look of the carriage, but it somehow seems somewhat out of place.

I'm not suggesting this should be added, but i liked telling the driver to speed up and he'd run over everything and crash into stuff B) .

Well actually, the aliens weren't chasing the cart, they were bandits. The aliens are slow moving people that are trying to abduct the cows and you have to get keep them from the barn. Totally different game sequence. The wagon chase is just like the carriage chase idea, you set in the back of the wagon, the man that lives on the same road is wearing a bandana and has his cow hands help attack the wagon, trying to break all the milk so that she can't sell it so that the farm goes bankrupt and he can buy up the land cheap.

Also, it might be kind've cool to have the carriage get stuck in a big blizzard and then you all get eaten by polar bears
