Think of it as grammar.

Lol at this. Another funny thing is it actually works more in the opposite direction. Notice, the OP is NOT using grammar, and grammar is the opposite of a short cut. Thus, grammar is like morrowind "proper" travel while text-speak is quick and convenient like Oblivion travel. Maybe the OP would prefer to speak with grammar, but the convenience and prevalence of text-speak just polluted his language.

Also, it amazes me how many intelligent people are convinced by the carelessly unqualified argument "If you don't like it, don't use it." I would explain why that is so silly, but I know you people are smart enough to figure it out on your own...

My only worry about fast travel is that it will be implemented in a way that does not add to the atmosphere of the game. It shouldn't be that hard to implement convenient fast travel without making it a menu-specifc option.

If you aren't forced to use fast travel then it shouldn't be a problem. As usual people have to make a big deal out of nothing. Bethesda didn't say you have to fast travel to go to those mountains in the distance, they said you could walk to the top of those mountains.

It comes down to, why remove a feature that you don't like, but don't even have to use at all if you don't want to? It's all about options and it's always better to have more options then less. :tops:

I don't claim to be intelligent but I don't understand why not using it is a problem. I don't use it for most of my game and don't care that it is there nor care that other people do use it. I don't understand why it bothers folks if it's there and why it's mere presence makes anyone think they must use it. I've never had it feel like it was in my face yelling at me, "use fast travel summer, use it". I just merely went walking and running over the hills and through the streams to wherever I wanted to go having a merry old time along the way.

Sorry for sounding silly to you but I may not be smart enough to figure it out. I'm sure you didn't mean to flame me and others like me but you know, you did. :( Please try not to do that in the future. Maybe an explanation without telling folks they are silly would work.
