Faster messages?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 7:51 am

Is there an ini tweak or mod to change how long messages stay on screen?

I use hotkeys to switch weapons in combat, and it can take several seconds before the messages cycle through to tell me what weapon I have equipped.. not ideal in combat.

SOLVED: MenuQue v10 beta 4 does it. Install then edit .ini file in data\obse\plugins, change 2 items to enable and set length of messages.

Unfortunately, no.

There's a parameter a scripter can specify in lines that print messages to specify how long the message should appear on-screen, but doing so doesn't have any actual effect. :(

IIRC, MenuQue's next release (whenever that is) ought to fix that parameter.

This is in the beta of MenuQue

* Added fix for message duration always being 3 seconds (default duration is configurable).

So I guess it is already fixed? Gotta try it!

It, however, is not advised to use the Beta for MenuQue because it has some unresolved issues in other areas.

I found in the menuque.ini file bFixUIMessageDuration=0, I guess that's where I enable the change and the line below to set how many seconds.

fixed error:
Strange. Installing MenuQue in Wrye Bash results in a white box. Which means "the package is configured in a way that it has no files to install. This can happen for complex packages where none of the sub-packages are checked". What is strange is that the structure is identical to MenuQue 9's archive, except it has an extra text document.

It's Crashing to desktop when loading a game (like another commenter at the nexus). Looksh like I'll have to wait a little longer, Trebec.

Released today! Loads saves properly, no HUD issues.

I like how you can cycle items multiple times and it will only show you what you landed on. :)
