The ones I know about are novac, wrangler, BoS safehouse, follower safehouse, lucky 38 suite, NCR safehouse, and Legion safehouse.

Novac still seems like the best to me, maybe because I don't like the solitude of a safehouse and the lack of a fast travel to the suite.

The problem with all of those is that you either have to pay or complete a quest to use the house. Also, some of those are nowhere near the fast travel point. Lucky 38 suite for example, is 4 clicks away with a lot of walking (North gate, walk, door, walk, Victor, select)

It seems that containers do not respawn in this game so you can use any shack you come across. I use Harper's shack near Primm Pass. The fast travel spot is literally 10 feet from the front door.

Novac is 100caps without completing any quest, or high fame for free. Eitherway it seems to be the most practical "official" safehouse.

If you're on the PC, try my travel marker mod; it moves some around, and places one to each section of the strip.

A good place for a house is Wolfhorn Ranch, east of Nipton, it's a medium size shack with good storage, a unique cleaver and a bed and some other stuff, it's a good place to settle down.

I like that you pick your own spot. A lot of people [censored]ed, but there is a ton of places to settle down.

I would have liked a real house, not just a hotel room or safehouse in the middle of nowhere. Also picking wolfhorn or primm pass you don't get well-rested xp bonus.

Wolfhorn is one of my preferred locations, however it's in the far corner rather than centralized so I don't use it as often as I probably should. I tried the hotel in Primm, but the storage is a goodly ways from the entrance unless I go in via the second floor entrance, which is a pain to get to.

Am thinking of unsealing the abandoned house in Novac and seeing if I can attach the campfire script to a stove activator...

Novac is the best "official" call-this-yours place. But I alternate between there and just using the containers by the Goodsprings store/saloon and sleeping in the camper to the north. Novac is great for "I need a nap and water", Goodsprings is better for "I need to make stuff". There's already a few dozen player housing mods on the Nexus as well (and at least 6 in Goodsprings).

What we really need is a house inside the Black Mountain Arrays....with Loading adn working bench as well as an Oven than can use as campfire (or just a campfire).
