Fastest way to make the Vampire attacks stop? HELP!

Post » Sun Oct 30, 2016 6:04 am

Can someone just tell me the fastest possible way to make the vampire attacks stop? The main reason I created this topic in the first case is because the new Skyrim Special Edition FORCE installs ALL DLC on the Xbox One. I decided I would do Dawnguard immediately, just to a point where the vampire attacks STOP. I'm going straight there right out of Helgen.

You do know that you can avoid vampire attacks by not arriving in towns at night, right?

In any case, you have to do the whole Dawnguard main quest to end the attacks, which also includes doing the Main Quest sub-quest that involves getting the elder scroll.

Best thing is not to use fast travel to cities or towns and do not use carriages for the same reason. Do not go near cities from around 5pm to 9am. For the most part Vampire Attacks will happen Dusk, night, or at dawn and being in the area and then resting for the night it can still mean that Vamps are active in the day.

You can fast travel to someplace that is not that far from the city such as the the destroyed watch tower near Whiterun and wait until morning if it is too late to go to Whiterun. The stables are to close I found.

Dragons is what I have more problems with.

The attacks cease after completing the Dawnguard questline.

Sorry for the double reply, but I just copied and pasted this from a gamefaqs forum I don't even know where I found it. Is this true?

If you side with the vampires, the attacks stop after you complete the Bloodstone Chalice quest which is the very first quest you get with the vampires.

If you side with the Dawnguard, the attacks don't stop until you've completed Kindred Judgement which is the very last quest in the add-on.

So if you're really concerned about the vampire attacks, siding with the vampires is the quickest way to deal with it. But they'll stop either way.

No, the attacks continue if you side with the vampires.

I also just read this from wikia

"To prevent these deaths, it is recommended to reach at least the "Bloodline" quest in the story, after which the attacks will subside"

Then the information you've gotten is wrong. If you are at least level 8, between the hours of 10 PM and 5 AM, upon entering a city location, there is a 100% chance of an attack (which becomes 5% after the first) of an attack. If no attack occurs for twenty days, then one will occur with certainty. Only Harkon's death stops the attacks for good, unless you use a Bloodcursed Arrow to cause an eclipse, in which case there is a 100% chance (reduced to 25% after the first attack) chance of an attack.

Minor addendum to this: they will trigger after 5 AM if you sleep overnight in an Inn.

If the attack has triggered, it will not end due to the passage of time, which causes attacks in daylight hours. It will only end by leaving the affected location.
