fatal error:game rendering context and non-opengl 3.1 suppor

Having serious trouble with game. It looks amazing and ive been following its every move for months since advertised in Game info.er. But on first day i comes out i get it from amazon with steam for pc, and went through a long update and downloading procsess, followed by an annoying time not recognizing my graphics card or (2) 2.93 GHz procsixr with 900 gb memory and saying it was low quality. After toying with its settings regarding my comp. status on steam, i started it up, and all it got past was the first menu without even entering the game and then it crashed. The error showed -
"FATAL ERROR: Error creating game rendering context."
Tried reinstalling it with prefered settings and it still didnt work.Tried setting up launch options and it still didnt work. so yesterday that patch came out that took exactly 16 hours to update it ! and then 5,432 MB later the same error window opened instead saying -
"FATAL ERROR: The current video card / driver combination does not support OpenGL 3.1 or newer."
So now i come to all who read this with the problem i know isnt just my own because i have been reading blogs for days with the exact same problem and completely different drivers, video cards, graphic qualities, and procsixrs. Even after this i have seen many of the amature solutions of total noobs online who know nothing about what they are typing, and now i hope to get some insight or at least motivation showing that this game can still be worth while from the designers or any other brink enthusiasts

I dont expect anyone to jump up on their seats to reply but it would be nice if someone could just anolyze the info cuz im not a comp. wiz. i still expect to play the game at some point but i have no other console and im itching to be part of the action so take a look if u can

hey i'd love to help but i dont know what the problem is either. i received basically the same error message as your first one when i tried installing the game to a friends computer. haven't tried again since the patch. but the fact that it changed shows me that they are working towards getting everything fixed.

Ya i felt realy optimistic when i saw the patch working at it especially since it was downloading so much. So im at least greatful that there is progress

This fixed the OpenGL 3.1 mismatch problem for me...

You need to update your graphical driver. Older versions of drivers don't have support for OpenGL 3.1.

Also, from the Error report you provided the following worries me :

GL_VENDOR: Intel
GL_RENDERER: Intel? Graphics Media Accelerator HD
GL_VERSION: 2.1.0 - Build 8.15.10.1968


By that report it looks like you are running on a computer that is using the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator which is an integrated solution and was never meant to be used for gaming purposes.

Check which graphic card you have, maybe it isn't being detected correctly which leaves the Intel's GMA integrated solution to be placed as your primary graphical accelerator.

Note : If the Intel GMA is your only GPU then you most likely won't be able to run Brink despite the driver update.
