Fatigue: What does it do?!

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 10:02 am

OK, I do know that fatigue is necessary to swing your weapon, sprint and jump. Nothing new there, but I was reading the UESP Fatigue page (http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Fatigue) when I came across this: "Stamina is your character's physical energy (...)".
Now, my question: Is that just blab, or does fatigue increase the damage you deal with weapons? And if it does not, what does? Differently asked, is there any way, besides improving the related skill, to increase the damage dealt with a weapon (an equivalent to Strength in Oblivion)?

Increasing damage is done with enchants. Increasing stamina lets you have more power attacks (important) lets you sprint longer and also let's you carry more weight

I don't think it effects your damage as a straight stat, but you "spend" stamina to execute power attacks. So the more stamina you have, the more power attacks you can do in a row, which amounts to higher damage.

I would imagine that Stamina would have an influence on Damage dealt as Stamina influences Carry Weight, which is what Strength used to cover. If and what/how that is determined is not known to me. For sure, it is the Weapon Skill and the Perks that influences Damage the most.

The main effect that I have seen of Stamina is how many power attacks you can do and how much you can move around in battle. You can find yourself not able to dodge and move around or attack someone else as you are barely walking until you get recharged. It does not seem to effect running in the world like it did in earlier games.

It's also very important to bow users who like to zoom and slow down time.
