The :cake: is a lie.

I think you'll find that, The :cake: is an emoticon.

Edit: Grammar failures.

This is good because essentially every body type is a new gameplay experience.

Or, they can let the team rush the objective and mop up the mess the team created when they arrive. Think of it as "Oh, the reinforcements have arrived!"

Heavy Medics will be highly successful so long as they are close to the fight. Otherwise, they would be a waste of manpower and valuable resources if they are nowhere near the fight and can't get there quickly.

Human cube.....

Sounds like the Gears of War guys.

OMG, that's what I've been thinking this whole time with Heavies, lol!
I was like, "his head is really wide and on steroids---like that Marcus dude from that [awesome!] Gears series, lol!"

Oh, Wraith (for some reason my brain wants me to type, "Wrath, instead, lol), this was a great find! The article was great and kind of made me giggle.
I am loving the sound of actually playing a Heavy character the more I hear of them.

Love this comment from the comments section:
"I love the idea of this human brick character forever arriving late to firefights and out of breath all: ‘guys wait for meeee’.
Can he still scramble up walls or does it take several attempts while the rest of the team look on and sigh?"

And now all the pro-heavies are going to have to try harder.

Fixed that for you.

As an all time Heavyweight, this makes me happy. Why?
That means the game will actually be challenging.

Score? I think so.

Its all about playstyle
I personally prefer the more mobile / stealthy Operative style play. In certain situations being a heavy is advantageous but I feel that being mobile and sneaky allows you to have more control over what situations you find yourself in. Its all about taking advantage of the OPportunities (see what i did there) that you make for yourself.

Just to be clear, not hating on the heavies def going to make one myself, just giving my preference

Ed Stern: If you try level 3 you are a braver man than I.

Yea... we are going to have our work cut out for us.

Well from my experience with MAG: just because a developer developed the game, doesn't mean they can play it.

I remember on a Zipper podcast one of the devs called MizzSmartyPants joked about how terrible she is and how she always goes negative. I played a game alongside her about half a year later... and she did so terribly it was comical. On the "play MAG with Zipper" days, apparently for the most part the rest of the devs at Zipper did terribly too.

That and Stern is the writer, pro gamer skills not required.

I plan on spending a chunk of time as a heavy with a nice BFG, but probably not as a medic. Hopefully the team recognizes the need to take a position and hold until the heavies get there instead of just rushing in and dying off before they catch up.

Yes haha this will be very exciting/surprising if people can figure this out on the consoles, main reason why I plan on doing online with buds and not randoms. Hopefully they will use the objective wheel that will tell them to heal / dish out ammo to people in need. As its been said on many posts before, the developers did their best to promote teamwork time will tell if people will go for it.
Getting randoms on consoles to team up so far has been like herding cats, very selfish, teabagging cats...

I think the "braver man than I" line spoken by Ed Stern, was in reference to paying vs the AI on hard, not Challenges.

This is good because essentially every body type is a new gameplay experience.

This is the point many people have been trying to get across for months....There is no "best" bodytype. Bodytypes are designed to cater to different playstyles. It's the skill of the player that ultimately makes a bodytype good or bad.

Facepalm why? The guy may have made Heavies sound rather chunky, but he also made them sound nearly indestructible. As they should be, to make up for their severe lack of mobility.

In the trailer the heavy did take a gernade to the face and lived to kick some ass

I notice he made an article titled "Fatties and Free Running" without talking about using SMART as a fatty.

Good read!

I guess I'll pick up the Mirror's Edge time trials again now (actually did so a few days ago, too). Because I find them pretty damn hard to beat for 3 stars as well.

"Those long limbs and camel necks were replaced with, essentially, a human cube."

Best line ever, good find wraith, gizmo approves

I agree very much. But also:

S.M.A.R.T. requires foresight and reflex, not slack-jawed laziness;
it’s a matter of surveying the terrain as you sprint and making
judgement calls as to the best route, based on a certain familiarity
with your character’s athletic capabilities, and just a little bit of
blind faith.

i would ROFL if a heavy was moving toward you and your character screamed "TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANK!!!!!!!"

This would actually fit the game's style though.

Goes well with "You're allowed to take cover, y'know!?"

Is it a box. is it a shipping crate, no its MANCUBE!
Must be a friend of companion cube.

Wow, I'm at work here (sort of) and everyone was looking at me for a moment.

I like the way he emphasises the flaws AND strengths of going Heavy.

But manages to neatly sidestep the question we really want to ask about how SMART + Heavy feels.

At teh end when he talks about the 3 star missions it makes me wonder if its gunna be like some flash games where instead of jumping down onto the platform and climbing up a ladder you wallrun and jump to barly make it saving yourself about 4 seconds. Just an example because i dont wwant to have to rely on a shortcut to do my freerunning job.

So you want your freerunning to be directed and to lead you by the hand throughout the challenges? As someone who coaches and practices parkour, I find that... counter-intuitive.
