My Fault
Mitch looked over the desolate city, watching the flaming intensity of gunfire at every block. He caused this it was no one's fault but his own. He heard the horrible screams of dying civilians as they were either shot by the military, unable to tell which person to shoot, or the Infected, tearing them to shreds or making them one of their own. He began this. He needs to stop it, as it had taken the lives of so many. So many people that had no idea what was to become of them, so many who perished on that fateful day. All his fault. He was liked by none and hated by all. But, the strange thing was that he was no one, he wasn't a person, he wasn't real.
Two Years Before.
"Do you have the results"? Jane asked as she walked by the testing lab."Were not getting anywhere with the data" Mitch said angrily. "Well do it again". "Why the hell are we even doing this, this makes no sense" Mitch said, clearing the table for another experiment. "Just do it" Rick said in a worried voice.
"Rick, Jane, Frank, Mitch and John, I need you" Lab captain Gregory said. They walked into his office, waiting for him. "What the mmmphmnm"! Before Mitch could figure out what was going on, he had a bag over his head and felt drowsy. Mitch realized he couldn't fight it and had himself dragged and quickly passed out.
"What the hell are you talking about", Mitch heard as he regained conscious."I'm talking about Retang Alpha, the virus your team was working on.
Mitch tried to make out where he was, a huge steel room, some tables in the back only a single entrance. No name or symbol marked where he was, only him and his team, and some guys in black suits.
"Let us see if your friend by the name of, o' let's see, Mitch. Mitch sat up straight waiting for a question to pop out of the guy's mouth.
"Do you know what Retang virus is" he said in a cold voice."No, Mitch responded, I don't. The man laughed walking over to one of the tables. "I think you do" he said. He grabbed a vial of purplish liquid, studying it closely.
He grabbed some papers and walked over to Mitch."Look at this" he said. Mitch looked at it confused at first."Wait, no, no, NO!" Mitch stood up, ready to punch the heartless man. "
"So you do know" he said in a happier voice. Mitch grabbed for the vial, but was unable too, as if had been paralyzed."I can't wait to test this", he said.
"You don't know how powerful that stuff really is" As he said that, the guys in suits left the room, leaving the group alone. "What the hell was he talking about". Jane said, in an angry voice.
