I loved the anti material rifle in New Vegas and I liked the new ammo inventory selection with diiferent types of ammo, I was smacking Deathclaws like they were [censored] raiders and dropping muties with armour piercing
bullets to the skull.

Pushy! Thanks to this weapon (and 100 unarmed skill and taking every chem I was carrying at the time) allowed me to win a fistfight with a dozen deathclaws.

Idunno, probably Missile Launcher, it's a beast that can one hit kill just about anything.
And it's explosion is eyecandy.

Hunting Rifle+++ - Powerful and a good survival weapon. Second choice is Laser RCW+, because it's awesome!

Guns: Trail Carbine though weaker than the brush gun it can be aquire MUCH earlier and has more common ammo
Explosives: Mercy/Annabelle when maxed out (including explosive perk like Demo expert x3) these two are devastating
Unarmed: Pushy light, more durable and easier to find than the Ballistic fist
Melee: Knock knock looks cool and will make short work of most enemies even with little melee skills
Energy wep: Holo rifle - when maxed it packs a punch uses little ammo compared to other energy weps and has tight hip spread

I personally like the Service rifle just the way it looks. Though if I had to pick between 100 5.56 rounds and the Service Rifle or 50 .308 rounds with the Hunting Rifle and go into the Mojave, it'd be the Hunting Rifle no question.

I'm playing an EW character, so not sure about my favorites in the other categories, but right now I've been liking the Laser RCW+. It's got a tommy gun style going on, plus it's got good accuracy. I also love the unique Laser Rifle, but it uses 2 microfusion cells at a time :down:

You know what's nice about this thread? Just about everyone is picking a different favortie weapon. Seems to me that the devs, primarily Josh, must have done a damn fine job on conceptualizing and balancing the weapons for there to be so many good options to choose from. Yay to everyone.

it depends on the category really

EW: Laser RCW because it makes me feel like a mobster + it's basically a tommy gun.
Guns: This machine because it's the m1 garand and I love that gun.
Melee: Oh Baby! Do i really need to describe why?
Unarmed: Pushy
Explosives: I don't use them much but the Missile launcher is really fun.

How the hell can anybody pick just one?

I've even come to like the energy weapons (I detested those things for a long time before forcing an EW build on myself and then... yeah, I'm a fan).

I dunno, I love the hunting rifle and aways have, but it would definitely be the desert eagle if they had one. They should really consider adding something like that.

I like most all of the weapons I was just happy to have such a large arsenal. Some of my favorite killing tools are: Silenced .22 SMG, This Machine, Pushy, All-American, Ratslayer, and a fully modded Cowboy Repeater. ( I may have missed some)

The Gobi Campaign scout rifle is just bad ass. Pump up luck and gun skill and watch those heads pop from miles away
