I am gonna be a full Fledged tank i want to smash any opposition.
I want the Heaviest Armor The Mightiest Sword and the Strongest shield.
And with a tiny bit of Healing magic for flavor.

Melee for the most part, with the occasional stealth character thrown in. Planning on trying a mage character in ESV so long as the experience is rewarding (that's to say my beefed up Master level spells look and feel more powerful than novice ones)

Have I ever told you that your avatar bothers me? Hurts my eyes with the sharp contrast from the man and the white background lol.

lol. I'm sure it bothers a lot of people. My Steam friends seem to love it though.

Despite there being no classes in Skyrim, I will play as I have attempted to in all numbered Elder Scrolls games but Arena (wouldn't let me design a character I wanted due to rigid classes with severe penalizations, such as not being able to cast magic). I will attempt to be a knightly paladin who, while focusing mostly on melee combat in the form of swordfighting, will also master some classes of magic, including restoration, alteration, and possibly illusion.

Are you me in another body? THAT IS WHAT I AM SAYING TO MYSELF oh and PALADINS FTW

I always try out several different playstyles before deciding on my final combination of the three main roles.

But the first I usually try out is a standard warrior. What's better to get yourself acquainted with a new game than simply diving in with the most straightforward playstyle? Run in, smack some stuff until it falls over, repeat.

I play a battlemage hybrid: big swords/hammers, heavy armour mixed in with illusion and destruction for light spells and instant kills every 3-4 seconds as my magicka recharges.

My main character is usually a hybrid between stealth and melee, my set skills in oblivion included marksmen and blade, security and armorer, amongst other things. I like this combination cause i really like to be sneaky, but theres some quests and times where i feel stealth really isn't needed and just fighting would be so much more satisfying in the situation.

Previously I liked to sneak into a better position and observe before I'd try to pick one off with a bow before grabbing a sword and shield and finishing it in melee, later in the game starting to back this up by some spells. In the end a hybrid of all three, although I mostly tried to develop my melee skills first. I presume this will be harder to pull off in Skyrim, so I'll want to have speechcraft tagged in the beginning if it still works like this. Maybe illusion or alteration, everything else melee like smithing too.

I got the impression that a balanced playstyle like that would actually be easier to pull off in Skyrim. Since Tag skills are out, you're able to freely level what you want, when you want.

I tend to play mainly melee with some magic added in, but I hope to try something different with Skyrim, at least with my 2nd character.

My playstyle is a little bit of this, a little bit of that, whatever works in the situation. It almost always involves a lot of sneaking, though. (I've done the Morrowind Sanctus Shrine quest twice on foot, sneaking all the way.)

When playing Oblivion, I usually create a custom hybrid mage/fighter class with skills that complement advanced vampirism; however, with most of the major skills being ones that I either use less often or can control how often I use them to avoid leveling up to quickly.

The new leveling system will really free things up.

Perhaps, interesting impression. The reason I thought it would be harder is because some people suggested skills will work like a tech tree with different perk branches and it'll be hard or impossible to get to the top of each branch, you see. But I wouldn't mind at all if I could max out a lot of different stuff. Nice if it's going to be easier.

Was there any mention yet of whether leveling up will occur on sleeping? If so, it would seem the only way to level all the skills in a rounded way would be to avoid sleeping for extended periods.

Im planning on a stealthy light armored (assuming they introduce sneak penalties for heavy armor) archer whose also deadly with a sword.

He’s a skilled fighter, but he knows its usually preferable kill your enemy from a distance.

I dont think so because this so called Pre-Alpha gameplay on youtube shows on the top left where info text is that he has leveled up and to assign skill points but me and many of my friends are saying its just a Oblivion Mod but then again it is a Pre-Alpha so we never know

My favorite is stealth, but my first character will be a Paladin with some restoration in the side. Then an Imperial assassin.

I'll probably go for a social/fighter hybrid with a bit of magic (although probably no blunt damage spells, but rather alteration, alchemy, illusion and such).

My favored class type is basically whatever can take the most damage possible, I don′t care about doing fancy spells, doing a lot of damage, running fast or anything else, I just want to be as durable as possible. So for Oblivion I went for...

Heavy Armor: Obviously this is the strongest armor.
Block: Blocking hits instead of taking them head on speaks for itself.
Alteration: Where I lack in defense naturally I make up for it with alteration spells.
Restoration: Whatever damage I take I heal.
Conjuration: It allows me to spread damage between me and my summons, I usually just go for whatever summon takes the most damage.
Armorer: Being able to make my armor have 125 durability really helps during long fights.
Blunt: I also happen to love maces but I also take blunt so I can bash the enemy around draining their fatigue and thus their damage and ofc also to stun my enemies.

And I will go for this if the system in Skyrim will be like the one in Oblivion, but I doubt that so I will just go for something very similar.
