I voted stealth. However, I also like Nightblades and stealth with 1 or 2 magic skills for support (in MW and OB, I liked mysticism the best for support). I don't yet know whether I will use daggers (and maybe sometimes short swords) or marksman. I have always thought of a thief using a dagger, and an assassin using a bow.

Well now I think for the first time ever, I'll play a pure thief (except once in Morrowind) who'll rock, because he'll dual-wield. I'm also concerned about by battle-mage hybrid. Will I be able to turn down 2handers and dual-wielding for magic? I don't know, but I'm excited!

I prefer the hybrid of stealth and melee, with some magic in it.

Any heavily armored warrior with spellcasting powers and a good cause may call himself a Crusader. Crusaders do well by doing good. They hunt monsters and villains, making themselves rich by plunder as they rid the world of evil.
MW decription of the Crusader.

ArcherMage

Conjure up something and while they are beating up in my creature, stand back and shoot arrows, lightning bolts and ice balls.

My characters are almost always melee/stealth hybrids, in that they use sword and board, but wear light armor and are good at getting the jump on the enemy, and in oblivion I took acrobatics as well after I found out about the dodging ability that a high acrobatics gives. After that I usually will take a little speechcraft and from there I'll go after my magic skills, usually with restoration being the most important of.

Its kinda funny that Skyrim fits my custom class Ive had forever.

Slayer-skilled in close and long range, with a mix of heavy and light armor and the ability to repair as needed. Alchemy, sneak, and security are also heavyly used

THIS.

With some dabbling in Mysticism (or whatever governs teleportation spells like Mark, Divine Intervention etc.), Alteration and Illusion. Forget the long range and go for BIG FRICKEN AXE!

You guys know there are no classes in Skyrim. Bethesda did away with the class system.

http://pc.ign.com/articles/114/1143498p1.html

But I picked magic because Vedaa is a pure spell caster.

Of course there are classes - you just don't pick it at the beginning. Rather in Skyrim you build up your class by the way you play (yes I know there is no little box where you get to record a name for your class). Besides, they don't have business cards in Skyrim anyway.

I love the idea of a hybrid class, particulary nightblade(stealth, magic) and spellsword(melee, magic). It keeps things fresh and more open for customization.

I've never once played a "pure" character in any game that gave me a choice so Hybrid. I also tend to go for a Assassin/Mage/Ranger type character. Think of the "Strider" persona of Aragorn in Lord of the Rings except add using magic to amplify stealth and to pick locks. http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo360/relvain/Avatars/aragorn.jpg is what I picture would be on the "class selection" screen if the class type I play was in a game :P

Note, I know classes have been removed, I'm just saying that's how I play.

I don't think a magic/combat type character will be nearly as easy to pull off as in oblivion. First of all, no more spellcasting while sword&boarding, which limits you to a 2hander or staff + sword. Also, I'm pretty sure it's confirmed that at level up you choose between health, stamina and magic right? I'm pretty sure a combat & magic character would need all three of those. No more efficient leveling all your stats to become a master of all.

I'll be a thief, and maybe an assassin. So stealth, with maybe one or two magic skills in there.

Probably will do a stealth/magic character that uses light armor/unarmored, opens locks with magic and uses stealth, but does not use a blade or bow like a Nightblade.

So an acrobatic thief/mage with dualwielding spells... :toughninja:

They did do away with them. No more classes. He's just asking what type of character you will play.

If they hadn't changed character creation this drastically I would of been a stealthy warrior with at least smithing and destruction skills, but now the way you acquire skills this time round will be more generalised I'm not sure how my original plan would play out

Eh ? Forging weapons and armor ? Did I miss something ?

If there will be armor forging in Skyrim I will make the heaviest armor there is, don′t care if it′s so heavy and clunky that I can only walk and can′t sneak, just give me more armor, more defense!

From what I have heard from many people(They probably heard from GI)there is black smiting so either that is its own skill(Which I doubt)or its going to be in armorer

Yeah Paladins are really just the same thing except they do if for only the greater good and most of the loot goes to the poor or the chapel.
Thats what I say atleast
