Favored Class Type in Skyrim

I think I would have to go with Hybrid because I am a Paladin which mainly uses Melee but has a side of restoration magic and I put security on for extra loot

I tend to like to be a mix of magic and a melee weapon, basically a spell-sword but my own custom class and not the spell-sword class in the game.

Warrior Battlemage Hybrid

Basically my Breton will be good with a Blade specificly Shield and Sword or maybe DuelWield, use Destruction Magic, Restoration Magic and wear Light Armor.

Classes? What's that?

And by that, I mean there are no classes in Skyrim.

Now for what skills I'll primarily focus on, probably whatever governs a nice blade (depending on what the combat skills are), Destruction, Illusion, Heavy Armor (if they haven't combined all classes of armor by now...), Marksman. That's all I know for now. Once we all see the the skill list, then I'll probably be able to better decide from there.

It does make you wonder, would you really be able to do the main quest properly if you were a thief or other stealth class sort of person? It would actually be nigh on impossible to kill dragons. Hope they have some way around that...

Its kinda funny that Skyrim fits my custom class Ive had forever.

Slayer-skilled in close and long range, with a mix of heavy and light armor and the ability to repair as needed. Alchemy, sneak, and security are also heavyly used

Neither; put everything on speech (personality/mercantile) and talk your way out of every challenge. That's what I did in Fallout :P

From what I have heard, now do not quote me on this but someone told me since you are the last Dragonborn you get "Dragon magic" I think it was called where it is pretty much Draconic words that grant you powers or something like that but I am not completely sure if people are telling the truth or not

I've always gone for Stealth with a Dark Elf (rhyme) But I might have to go for a Nordic Warrior this time around.

There are still classes in the other games to name them by. Just because there are no classes in Skyrim I will still call my character a spell sword and then the second character will be my Argonian Nightblade. The classes are just generalizations of the skills to let people know what your talking about.

They are called Dragon shouts. They give you power by speaking the dragon language, which is a language of power that gives dragons their might.

I always try to play the sneaking mage type character but I always end up using the sword the most because it's just too hard not to, for me at least.
Hopefully they will implement a better system for stealthy thieves, and pure mage type characters in Skyrim.

Basically. Except instead of both with Fallout and the Elder Scrolls where you choose some major skills, in Skyrim, you don't choose major skills at all.

Well, at least that's what we're getting from the current info. The one thing we're 100% sure of is that there are no classes.

Have I ever told you that your avatar bothers me? Hurts my eyes with the sharp contrast from the man and the white background lol.

magic all the way! when it comes to fighting dragons i don't really like the knight vs dragon set-up. a mage fighting a dragon is more to my liking, thanks to A Wizard of Earthsea.

I hope the major skills and minor skills system is still in the game although that is pretty much just Fallout's tag system but with 7 tagged skills instead of 3

Despite there being no classes in Skyrim, I will play as I have attempted to in all numbered Elder Scrolls games but Arena (wouldn't let me design a character I wanted due to rigid classes with severe penalizations, such as not being able to cast magic). I will attempt to be a knightly paladin who, while focusing mostly on melee combat in the form of swordfighting, will also master some classes of magic, including restoration, alteration, and possibly illusion.
