Favorite and Least Favorite Cities in Oblivion

My favourite is Leyawiin, because I think the area is pretty and the people are interesting. My least favourite is Cheydinhal, I don't like the quests/people/area/houses, I don't know it just doesn't appeal to me.

Favorite - Anvil

The Mediterranean style, the harbor, and the horse stables makes me think of Hollywood back in the Golden age of the 1930's. You even get a dramatic scene straight out of an old Dracula movie. Sunsets on the ocean are breathtaking. With a bit of cleanup (quest), the home for sale there is one of the loveliest with it's open architecture and huge basemant.

Least favorite - Bravil

The loading screen for Bravil mentions the noisome river. For those that don't know, noisome means stinky. In short, the river that flows through Bravil is actually an open sewer. All of the beds I ever encountered in Bravil looked like they had been washed in tobacco juice with bug droppings.

You hope it's tobacco juice.

I guess Chorrol would be my favorite simply out of nostalgia(it was the first city I ever visited). There's also a lot of great quests in Chorrol and one of the best houses.

My least fav would have to be Leyawlin. I don't really know why, but I just don't like going there...

What are you guys looking for city-wise in the Elder Scrolls V?

Bruma has been my fav from the beginning. It was actually the first town I visited outside I.C

Kvatch is my least, only because
Spoiler
IT NEVER GETS REBUILT!

I voted Chorrol as my fav, but it could just have easily been Skingrad, both for the city themselves and the surrounding area. Bit more variation around Chorrol so that edged it.

Bravil as least, but it's not like I don't like it there.

As for TES V, I just hope they return to open cities in the world space ala Morrowind and Open Cities mod! Silly, immersion breaking and silly, just to stop Xboxes overheating :meh:

I'm torn between Anvil and Chorrol, but went with Anvil because of the scenic location.

Kvatch is the worst, the city never gets rebuild or stops burning.

In all honesty I didn't notice much difference between the cities. I could tell which city I was in of course, but it wasn't really different. I mean the architectural styles were more texture changes then mesh changes. Just like the regions around the cities all looked the same just with either snow, more trees, hardly any trees, a lot of water, or no water. It is hard to just say I like this city the most because the only difference is the quests in the cities and those easily could have been in another city. PS did any one notice that if Leyawlin was suppose to recently be apart of Elsweyr why was the architecture Imperial. I know the Imperials annexed it, but they didn't rebuild Kvatch after the Oblivion crisis ended yet they completely redesigned a city to remove all traces of its ancestry in a couple years?
