Favorite bands of yours

Post » Tue Sep 21, 2010 1:05 am

Ok I know there are a lot of threads about music out there, but I haven't come across one where you can just post your favorite bands and post a link to one of your favorite songs by them. I actually have found one band posted in the Skyrim Thread about "what song fits your character" or something that I really liked and bought and have listened to ever since I heard them. And guys... Please no flaming. I honestly don't care if you think this band svcks, or that band is worse then this band, or if you don't listen to this you're an idiot. Lets just keep it to posting our favorite bands and an example of why it is your favorite band.

A few examples of bands that I really like-

I would have to say Coheed and Cambria is my favorite band. I love how complex their songs are, and how they tell a very good story.

My Holy Trinity of music:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmwpzyLI74U - In the Colors. Impossible to pick a favourite, but that one is amazing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu4M4CWVILk - Zero-Sum.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKT1P7x_Pzo - Where Did You Sleep Last Night?

To me, these three bands/artists sum up absolute perfection in music.

Sorta off topic, sorry. Is it strange that when I see threads about music in these forums, I only recognize two or three bands?

Guess I should put something in here though...

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody. I believe everyone can relate to this song somehow. (Not posting a link because I'm lazy and I'm positive everyone has heard it about 30 million times. :hehe: )

no it's not. thats why I wanted to post this, so everyone could find different bands. I find it annoying that I listen to all the same bands for years. If I can't incorporate at least one new band in my library after a couple years, then I start becoming bored. Or until the bands I like put out a really good album!

If we are talking about bands that play musical instruments then my top three are:

Sublime
Social distortion
Dropkick murphys

If we are talking music in general then Bone Thugs~N~ Harmony and Wu-Tang get added to the list

Matthew Good, hands down is my mostest favourite musician.

After that, it's Kings of Leon, Tegan and Sara, and Modest Mouse.

Heh, I like that one too. They're actually a lot like Rise Against, and I read somewhere that Rise Against was one of their influences, so perhaps that's why I enjoy their stuff too.
