Favorite Classic Games

I strongly disagree here. To me outdated is something you do not want to go back to it because you don′t enjoy it. They may be interesting collectibles but they′re not good things, they′re not well executed, they were bad even back then etc. But if it′s a classic that means it′s good. It may be old and off the shelves but it′s still good and you still enjoy it :)

Theme Hospital, NHL 95, Sim City Classic/2000. I also think Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 fits in this category :D

The term "classic" is rather nebulous.
But Mortal Kombat 1 - 3, Fallout 1&2, Final Fantasy 4,6 and 7, Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil 3 are some of my favourite older games.

Edit: Super Mario World how did I forget...

I spent quite a long time on Wizardry on my Apple ][+. Then (almost) the entire Ultima series (cloth maps!!). MechWarrior. Red Baron and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe. Quest for Glory. Auto Duel. The old X-Com series. I've had to replace a lot of the old operating systems with updated GOG versions.

I eWasted my old ][+ and replaced it with a //e a long time ago. I still have it as well as most all of my old games in AppleSoft and what used to be called IBM compatible (many on old 5 3/4 inch disk format). I'm probably sitting on an eBay gold mine right now and don't know it.

Temple of Apshai and Archon on my mate's Atari 800 that his dad picked up at an electronics show when he worked in a camera shop. We'd get wasted on whatever we could afford from the off-licence up in the top bedroom of Steve's terrace (his parents were the most forgiving) that was teen life in Northern Britain in the 80s, all the records on the music centre played at various speeds, cassettes did better. We listened to whatever people brought round, Yes, Sly, Ozzy, Steve Hillage, Led Zeppelin, reggae, Irish folk and Zappa were mainstays. I managed to excise memories of Rush.

I really wanted an Atari 800, but they were outrageously expensive. I had to make do with my svcktastic Dragon 32 and its useless anologue joysticks. Yeah I was a nerd, I could've had an Atari 2600 instead, though probably with no games as the cartridges were like the 800 outrageously expensive.

I didn't really avail myself of the music centre at the time (ours was https://www.flickr.com/photos/therockingchairsg/13302374493/: thanks, random Flickr dude!), which was a bit sad as it was the best era for pop music. My uncle did get me the 12" blue vinyl version of Mankind's Dr Who theme: at 10 minutes of sci-fi disco funk I think it should be the standard theme tune of the programme. Groovy.

My only complaint is that it's not long and outrageous enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIFsfEZdb_g is also worth checking out. Far out.

It's odd, I keep getting ready to add games I know I've played for 10+ years only to see they have been released in the last 4 or 5;

X3 Albion Prelude

Mount & Blade: Warband

Maybe it's a good thing I feel like I've actually played the games longer than they've been out :shrug:
