What is your favorite classic game that you own or use to own?

I absolutely love Stronghold Crusader.

Is Morrowind classic yet? Mafia? Diablo 2? Worms? Heroes 3?

What is classic, classic is such a broad term.

Rise of Nations? Age of Mythology? Stronghold Crusader?

Ultima IV, Hero's quest (quest for glory), police quest, Sid Meier's pirates, Albion, Wasteland, Leisure suit Larry, Civilization 2 and Ghengis Khan 2.

It depends on what you mean by classic though. These are probably the oldest of the games that i own and frequently replay every year or so.

I'm defining classic here by the older games that I annually replay... so the only ones really are LoZ: OoT and Halo CE... not really sure if Halo CE is a classic, but I love replaying all the campaign maps co-op with my little brother.

That's the big question :)

"Classic" in cars is 20 years or more old. "Classic" does not necessarily mean "good", in popularity terms :)

- Master of Magic is my top one. I still play this one every few months.

- Rail Empires: Iron Dragon is another "classic" I play at least once weekly.

- Dungeon Keeper 2 is another I play off and on, though not quite 20 years old.

- Neverwinter Nights is another game not 20 years old, but I still enjoy the game.

- Freedom Force I just reloaded on my PC, again not quite 20 years old :)

Only old game i still play is Age of Empires, but the HD version so technically it's only 2 years old!,

I still have all my boxed PC games from the 90's, can't seem to throw them away.

Just gonna ballpark classic to mean 2000 or earlier. Seems like a good cut off point imo. It is completely arbitrary but most new gamers will not have played anything from before 2000 so we can be assured of our gaming superiority and seniority here lol.

So...

Pokemon Red (brother had Blue)

LoZ: LttP

LoZ: Majora's Mask

LoZ: OoT

Goldeneye

Doom

Rise of the Triad

Ogre Battle 64

Jet Force Gemini

Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout

Age of Empires

Age of Empires 2

Civilization (1st one lol, idk why but I love it)

Might and Magic VI

Might and Magic VII

Heroes of Might and Magic III

Lords of Magic

Wizards and Warriors (Although it was late 2000)

I am missing a ton lol.

Wow, how the hell did I find time for sports and friends?

Final Fantasy - beat this so many times that I would play it with parties of all black mages or black belts for the challenge

Perfect Dark - 4P split screen & co-op mode was so much fun

Mortal Kombat II - All of my friends and I had the fatalities memorized from playing so much

Unreal Tournament - My 'baby's first troll people online' game. Still enjoy it to this day

The only games I have that could be considered classics (I consider them so, anyway) are Descent II, Descent: Freespace, and MDK 2.. I've been playing the first two since I was a kid, the third my dad got me for my birthday when I was a teenager.

Arcanum, which I still play thanks to GOG.

Doom, I actually have a CD with the oldest three. I also have the two newer ones on Steam, but I do not have the reflexes to be good at the Games anymore :shakehead:

When I was tiny, I used to play Ultima II and Dungeon Master on our cutting edge Apple IIe and Apple IIgs. I started Dungeon Master 2, but my brother completely erased it from the computer before I could finish, and I couldn't find the disk to reinstall. I kicked tush at Nobunaga's Ambition on an old Tandy, I think. My was an electronics professor, and liked to practice at home. I watched him play Daggerfall, but I didn't pick up the Elder Scrolls myself until Morrowind.

A slightly newer game that I consider classic (since my brand new comp won't read the disc) is Arcanum. I'm going to have to shell out the $6 for it one of these days.

I just bought the Extreme HD version off of Steam because I couldn't find my old disk :)

I'd add:

Fallout 2 (probably Fallout as well but I can't remember much of it), I need to get those games again

Ultima Online - yeah I know it's an MMO, but if I could buy a single player version of it I so would

I really like Arcanum as well, that's about an annual replay game for me too.

Also should mention the first two fallout games, if they are 'classic' enough. Very good games.
