Danse if you manage to keep him alive during blind betrayal he legit wears x01 armor. And he has one of the most powerful base weapons a companion can use.

I use many. I use Dogmeat, Nick Valentine and Strong atm. Preston Garvey seems the most cliche so I don't use him almost at all. Will give each of them a shot at some point. Haven't used Hancock yet but will soon. So far I like Strong with hammer and him being able to carry a lot XD but he is damn annoying (well, to my character because I play CHA/INT char and not STR/smash/kill type).

I was using Dogmeat, but once I'd met Valentine I replaced him. There's something I really like about him; and his connection to my character makes him easy to roleplay along. I may swap him out again once this story arc is concluded.

Hancock for sure hes just a really good relatable character who also knows and does whatever it takes to survive... also love his wit hes kinda like the han solo of fallout 4.... a dirty rotten scoundrel but with a good heart and seeking redemption

Hancock has got to be my favorite so far. I just love it when I'm in the middle of a fight and I hear him scream: "I'm feral now!"

Dogmeat. Because of what you'd call immersive reasons. IRL, I have two (soon three) rescued GSDs.

And I just like him as a companion. He's silent. He carries stuff. He's a light weight melee tank, so he distracts enemies while I shoot them. Plus he sometimes finds things.

That blocking me in, underfoot thing? That's a RL GSD behavior, so I'm used to it. Just command him to go out of your way. Easy, and a tiny cost for all his useful attributes.

Dogmeat.

Piper doesn't really work for me and Cait's incredibly fake Irish accent annoys me to no end.

I like Codsworth and Nick, but I also like the Lone Wanderer perk. Strong is a super mutant freak who is an enemy of mankind and I want to kill him, but instead I've settled for him defending some backwards settlement beside a Mirelurk queen spawn.

Now, what I really want is that KLEO as a companion. I like her style.

Hell, I'll take any Assaultron. Make it happen Beth!

I want Piper as my girlfriend (my toon is a mother btw) AND Dogmeat as my pet canine, at the same time.

I've noticed that most of the female characters are thin. It is a bit of a change from most games these days in which most females have swimsuit model physiques. But you know what, it is more realistic. Can't imagine nutrition is that great in a post-apocalyptic world.

I kind of like Nick the best so far. Just wish I could ask him to return to his deceive agency in Diamond City, rather than a settlement; would have felt better.

That's a fair point actually. Same with Piper. Seems strange that those people who clearly have an investment in the place can't be sent "home" when you don't want to travel with them any more.

Damn you all. Because of you now I have a problem of who to pick next. Played with Dogmeat, Nick, Strong, a bit Preston (cliche). Because of you now it's time to try either Hancock or Codsworth. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Does the Lone Wander Perk apply if you use Dogmeat as your companion?????

So I've run with Preston , Dogmeat and now Piper. Honestly Dogmeat has to be my favorite that grip he gets on enemies sometimes is a lifesaver, buying me a few more seconds...especially on Survival. Also it just feels natural running around the waste just me and my dog. Love running into mongrels and attack dogs and watch Dogmeat get busy. Piper annoys me idk why lol she tends to disappear when we finish exploring places in the waste ...might be my impatience but yea might just go pick up nick and continue. Preston is cool and reliable.

I believe I have all but deacon and Curie. This plat through im really into the minuteman so Garvey sees alot of action and I'm playing a white knight alongside him. Last night he started to come onto me but I friend zoned him. Piper didn't like it when I slept with the bar singer. The merc you can hire and cait and I don't see eye to eye on some situations so they normally stay at base. Nick is cool but I'm not decided as to how my character feels about synths yet

Hancock because he shares my ideals of killing those who deserve it and getting wasted an causing trouble, I also really like ghouls... Not like that.

Also curie and cait because of those accents.

I love Cait. Piper couldn't deal with me stealing a mailman outfit and I'm just not into her reporter gimmick. Dogmeat is great but he's not a great conversationalist and I was looking for someone with ranged weaponry. Cait has been fantastic so far both as a bodyguard and talkative friend.
