Who are your favorite companions?

I love Seargent RL-3, and dogmeat of course.

What about you guys?

Favorite vanilla companion is definitely Star Paladin Cross, I like how she first escorted James across the wasteland and now she escorts you across the wasteland. She's got a good story line.

Favorite mod companion is Bryan Wilks. With a little help from console commands he makes an excellent marksman. Especially with a crossbow... (yay mods) :celebration:

You're the first person I've seen who picked her! Everyone seems to hate her. She does do my head in with her seriousness, but she was my first ever companion and she's a bit of a tank so she's kewl. :D

Dogmeat, of course. I don't have much use for the others.

Are you actually serious? Cross if by far the most boring, judgemental person in the game. She never wants to be funny, and the only time she wants to speak to me is when she feels like passing criticism or claiming what Dad would have thought about my actions. Bah!

Though, I respect your opinion, and she is actually a good fighter. But I had no problem performing her execution -- a grand day, indeed.

Anyway, my favourite follower is definitely Jericho. I've only actually ever used him once -- my current playthrough, but he's been my character's best buddy ever since he entered Megaton, where our ex-raider friend tried to help him screw over Moriarty. :P
Great with a Minigun, too. Or a Flamer for up close.

My second favourite is Clover. She's hot, funny, and genuinely loves me. What more could you ask for?

Butch is up there, but I hate how he kind of thinks he's the leader, and whines when I try to take control of him. He's a good fighter, though, and a valuable assest to my team.

Dogmeat. That it all you need.

Fawkes can be fun, but boring as he tends to blast everything with his gl before i even unholster a weapon.

My 3 favorites in this order are Clover, Butch, and Charon.

Clover is my absolute favorite. I like that she's loyal to your character no matter what and that she's insane. Also she's easily customizable with weapons and outfits. I like sticking her in clean pre-war dresses and merc outfits. :)

Butch is funny, and I like that my character knows him personally because they grew up together and I like to pretend he's my buddy. Plus he's kind of sixy. :P

Charon like Clover, is cool because he's a brainwashed bodyguard loyal to his master. He's a lot tougher then Clover, but also a little more boring due to his dialog being so quiet and serious.

Heh heh, my character hates ghouls, but he noticed Charon showed little emotion about his vile state, and only cared about his employer. Someone who is probably 6'6'' tall and utterly loyal is a must have.

As we are, Charon is like my own personal super soldier -- the ends to my means, if you will. He's currently outfitted in T-51b and needless to say, he is a beast. Whatever I say, Charon does. He's a good little slave.
I have no doubt the zombie holds a great deal of animosity towards me and my right hand man Jericho, but what choice does he have? I'm going to be holding his leash to my dying breath -- Charon is simply too valuable. And he's a god with that shotgun.

Why do I feel if that had come from me it would have taken in a different manner.

I do think he's a bit emotionless, but he's not totally blank - he clearly operates on a strong sense of morality, or he wouldn't have killed Ahzrukhal. Watch your back, chris, drop that sheet of paper and it's ON XD

He's egging something on to us, Bit F3

But of course...my favorite is Charon. Sure, he's not STRONG like ol' Fawkes, but he sure as hell knows how to fire a weapon, and DAMN-well, too. He's the accurate of the one, while Fawkes is endurance, and Dogmeat's...dogmeat XDD

Star Paladin Cross has to be my second-hated...She is UBER-srsbzns...I HATE IT XDD And her dialogue's pretty dry.

Jericho's my #1 hated. Say what you want, but that bald-headed [censored] gets on my nerves so quickly, with his constant whining and [censored]ing...[censored], he makes a better housewife than a hired help!

Never had Butch, but then again, he looks pretty weak :/

Same with Clover...

Heh heh. ;)

He's not totally emotionless and boring, to be honest. Listen to him when he's in combat -- he really gets into it, and almost seems like a new person to me.

I really think there should have been a way to understand a bit more about Charon, maybe change him, without having to download llama's mod. Us poor, pathetic console users. Pity us!

I know yeah?! And apparently the wiki quotes him as saying he 'finds happiness in a warm gun'. I've never come across that, I'd be interested to know when he says it. It's like a bit of the combat-high Charon outside of battle. :') <3

Yeah, and he does have a subtle sense of humour.

Example: Tell him to wait and then come back saying 'No. I just wanted to make sure you're still here. Bye.' He replies 'Charming' in a sarcastic tone. I'm not sure why, but this makes me laugh. And he does show emotion in certain situations (like in the main quest).

Really, one of the good ghouls, but he's still more of a slave than a friend.

I'm sure there's a mod for that ;D

Ahem.

I'll try that, I have never done that to him. XD

Dogmeat is in a class by himself.

But for more talkative followers, I like Jericho. Great attitude and comments.

But then I don't usually do the Main Quest long enough to get the good or neutral karma followers. And for my good characters I use mods to get Jericho.

Clover is fun for a while but then gets real annoying.

Charon is a great fighter but too business like to be fun.

Seargent RL-3 because hes got a flamethrower, long range plasma gun and is a hovering storage cabinet in one. Hes also near indestructible, funny too.

I don't mind clover as she is damn crazy but pretty weak.

I did use Charon for a while, gave him hellfire armor, plasma rifle, loads of ammo and stimpaks and he died after just 45 seconds of being in the presidential metro. Wow, great job Charon!.

Dogmeat i tend to keep as a house pet lol.

Star paladin cross i absolutely hated!, weak, dose little to no damage with that stupid super sledge, i gave her a Gatling laser and a plasma rifle and she wouldn't use them. She is also very dull, boring and too much of a goody two shoes for me lol.

If i use a follower i usually pick RL-3 mainly because he never dies from all the overlords and albino scorpianZz.... they are overpowered in my opinion >.>

You can't blame Charon for that -- it's your own fault for giving him a plasma rifle; he's not good with Energy Weapons. You're better off leaving him with the shotgun. It's unique and he's great with it.

And to be fair, you can't really fault Charon for dying in the Presidential Metro. All your followers probably will unless you're very lucky and they're not the glitched non-humanoid companions.

I have only tried 4 followers. Dogmeat, Clover, Jericho and Charon.

Clover got wiped out by 4 raiders 30 seconds after i bought her.
Jericho got wiped out by an Enclave camp 30 seconds after I bought him.

Dogmeat and Charon wipe EVERYTHING out in less than 30 seconds.

So they are my pick!
