Favorite/least favorite quest

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2009 3:25 am

Well self explanatory My favorite was probably auld ling syng (arcade gannons quest ) beautifully written and showed that the enclave aren't the menaces there there made to look. My least is all the variations of the ending no real twist and a vary predictable end to the main quest and was a bit boring.

Lots of favorites. I can not pick one in particular.

But there is one quest I HATE - We Will All Go Together. Where you have to collect Dog Tags in Irradated town. Gad, I always end missing one tag and spending an hour trying to find it. All the while getting rad posioning. To add insult to injury, the reward just stinks! I would probably kill the quest giver on site, but I like his other quest.

Cheats, Hints and Spoilers section

Spoiler

- I Could Make You Care, simply because Veronica is such an awesome, well-written character
- Crazy, Crazy, Crazy... Hmmm... Killing supermutants with hilarious dialogue (if you fix Rhonda) as a reward, great quest.
- Bleed Me Dry, I like fightin'
- I Put A Spell On You, because I'm a ninja
- Come Fly With Me, again, fightin' supermutants
- That Lucky Old Sun, I feel like it's a well designed quest
- Arizona Killer, again, because I'm a ninja
- Still In The Dark, explorin', explorin',explorin'

Best: Arizone killer, get to be creative
Worst: When you have to islotate the virus in the BOS bunker to get rid of McNamara, also fighting the NCR general was annoying due to the veteran rangers and heavy troopers.

I really like "Volare".

I don't like the quests where you run back and forth telling people stuff and there is no challenge involved and very little reward. Such a waste of time.

It has such a cool name, though.

I like: We Are Legion, Veni Vidi Vici, Volare!, No Gods No Masters and Crazy, Crazy, Crazy.

Favourites: Arizona Killer, Beyond The Beef, Wild Card: Side Bets (which is kind of cheating I know), Wheel Of Fortune, Hard Luck Blues

Least favourite: Booted ('cause it's not a quest), Come Fly With Me, Return To Sender, and any of the many quests

where you run back and forth telling people stuff and there is no challenge involved and very little reward. Such a waste of time.

Come Fly With Me. One of the few bad quests in New Vegas in my opinion.

I mean rocket fuel from little toys? Really?

Favorites:
Beyond The Beef - Great quest with that mystery vibe to it, and cannibals! Who doesn't love cannibals?
Three Card Bounty - It's fun killing fiends :D
We Are Legion - Because it was fun.
Bleed Me Dry - Challenging and an epic reward.

Least favorite:
Classic Inspiration - Boring, and a useless camera that's stuck in my inventory forever. Thanks.

Come Fly With Me, Arizona Killer and That Lucky Old Sun are part of my favorites.

Least favorite one though... Taking out a certain faction, not cause I like them but because I don't like the initiation crap I have to go through to be allowed in.

Classic Inspiration would've been better if you got to use the camera afterwards, and if you could put the pictures you took in a photo album to be viewed at your leisure. If you'll give us a camera make it fully functional. All those holiday snaps I took of my companions outside various landmarks would've been something to remember them by after I got them killed...

Favourite quest is Eye for an Eye I wish there had more of this type of quest on both sides.

Least, the incredibly boring Crimson Caravan ones.

Fav: Auld Lang Syne. A formulaic, by the numbers quest, but the old soldiers telling you their stories... great!

Least Favourite: The Boomer love story/dating/romantic BS quest. Boooo-oooooooooooooooring. Obsidian, what were you thinking????

did they force you to do it? it was a bit of character development that had to be unlocked via Speech or Confirmed Bachelor.

for auld lange syne- it just had this awesome feel to it like you know your getting close to the end of the game and this is just going to be one of the final pieces.
I forgot to remember to forget- Boone is my favorite companion in the game and to be able to give him a sense of peace with himself was awesome.
Three card bounty- I hate each and every one of those fiend leaders with a passion and I always save that quest until late in the game so I can just destroy them.
I dont hurt anymore (I think thats what its called) - Just like with Boone it was cool to be able to help her find some peace with what had happened to her.

Ones that I hate? Just about all of the main quest ones up until Boulder City, there just dull to me and I always try to blow through them as fast as I can.

Beyond the Beef was a great quest, despite a few issues with people turning hostile on me that made it difficult. The Omertas one wasn't bad if you side with Cachino, and I liked Three Card Bounty and the unmarked quest in Vault 3.

Least favourite? Probably Still in the Dark. Just tedious.

My favorites? The Hosue Always Wins questline and Come Fly with me. Volare is also a fun quest.

Least Favorite? Any quest forcing me to go into Vault 34. *Shudders*

least favorite are all the freeside quests, not because of the quests themselves, but because i freeze an ungodly amount of times running around freeside. thought the king was a great character, would have liked more to do with him.

least favorite because of the quest itself would be the battle for hoover dam. it was underwhelming; not nearly enough enemies. even with all allies, i should have had to kill at least 50 legion or ncr. it simply did not feel like these two armies spent years amassing troops for this showdown; it felt more like a skirmish than an epic winner takes all battle. after the deathclaw promontory, hoover dam is like killing geckos in goodsprings.

favorite would have to be all the fiend killing (three card bounty/motor runner). especially stealth killing the entirety of vault 3. i don't know why, but it is extremely satisfying to slaughter fiends (especially when their backstory is so utterly vile). always make a nice haul on selling weapons too.

i enjoyed the mundane quests as well as the more elaborate quests. the mundane gave me a feeling that the world is real. just because there's a major battle about to happen doesn't mean jack doesn't care about that red head from crimson caravan. i think it gave a nice comment on humans: my world is still more important than the world around me. plus it gave a sense of the unknown to each quest; will this be a multi part quest where i have to bring the big guns or a simple fetch and retrieve? i liked the variety.

Ditto on the Freeside quests. So much walking around and loading screens.

Fave, possibly destroying the Hidden Valley Bunker. So many enemies and loot, such little time. Or, Beyond the Beef. Great quest, 'nuff said.

I could have typed this part of your post and added that when Boone thanks you, it's just satisfying. :) Also, everything leading up to Boone's personal quest is great and I LOVE serving up justice to Cook-Cook.

Auld Lang Syne is great and clearing out Cottonwood Cove after freeing the slaves is another favorite. I never use the radiation hanging over the area...Boone takes them out.

Least: Finding the 10 Irradiated Dog Tags.

Favorite: The Moon Comes Over the Tower. Or, as I call it, 550 Free XP.
Least favorite: Render untro Ceasar, because Caesar's one sick puppy. Killing the Boomer leaders, Mr. House, and the entire Brotherhood of Steel, plus encouraging the White Gloves to eat other human beings? And I thought Burke's version of Power of the Atom was some sick crap...

I wish the game could have ended like this: "The Courier, not vcontent with merely killing Caesar, Lanius, and all of their underlings in the Mojave, amassed an army of NCR troopers and Rangers, Mark II Securitrons, Brotherhood members, Great Khans, Enclave remnants, Kings, Boomers with their bomber, Nightkin with stealth boys, outraged feminists, and Fisto. And they marched into Legion territory and pretty much creamed everything wearing sports equipment and a skirt. After that, they all drank beer, ate sugar bombs, smoked jet, and engaged in other profligate behaviors. It was lots of fun."
