It was off the main page! That makes it needing revival ;)

Good point. ;)

I have found the threads in the General sub-forum tend to go off the main page very quickly!

Because I had to start my new game AGAIN...grumblegrumble...I figured out that you can make the newborn scream as much as you want during that very first scene by pressing the "talk" button. I hadn't realized that until then, and had a bit too much fun screaming my newborn head off at Dr. Li. I hate her so much, haha.

Well, it was her fault that your Xbox screwed up after all...her smuggish attitude clogged up your console and caused it to glitch. ;)

She really is evil, you know. No wonder dad stayed away from her for as long as he could.

I have stared at this sign for ages, across countless characters, what does the Chinese sign above the Brass Lantern say?

You know what, I always wondered about that and thought I'd see other signs similar and never did...

Wiki says that it says "Megaton Fast Food" but that brings out a whole mess of new questions. Who made the sign? I can't think of anyone in Megaton who might be a signmaker, let alone read Chinese. If it was scavenged from somewhere else, why does it say Megaton on it? Did Jericho and Billy Creel ride over to Mama Dolce's and force the Remnants to make a sign for the bar at gunpoint? Why is it in Chinese? The people can't read it so they don't know what it says and the only thing they sell that could vaguely be considered Chinese is noodles. Why do asian noodles get top billing over iguana on a stick and squirrel stew?

:ahhh:

O_O

Breathe...relax...have a Quantum...

I feel like it's probably just another Easter egg kind of thing. Fans who can read Chinese might chuckle, and the rest of us are left to think, oh neat?

One thing that isn't explored about the Stahl family (I am generally discontent about how there's nearly no canon about them to be found in-game) is that they were "from out east somewhere". Perhaps the sign was something they had brought with them when they moved to establish the business...

Agreed.
Dr. Lie needs to have her essential flag unset as soon as the MQ's use for her is finished, so then the player can have the entertainment of inhuming the stuck up brainiac slag.

Here's my hypothesis: There were most certainly Chinese POWs near Megaton. Perhaps one of them made the sign as part of their prisoner work.

Tonight as I was traipsing through the Wasteland trying so hard not to fast travel, I was walking north along the road from Greener Pastures disposal site, and there's a ruined traffic gate on the road. See, this is a little detail that is awesome, haha.

Near Minefield I believe is an electricity sub-station or a water pump thing, I can't remember which. Right outside the gate is a chair and next to that chair is a BB gun, some BB's and some consumables. I haven't seen it in my current playthrough yet, and haven't played in almost six months so I'm going by memory. The first time I saw it, I backed away quickly, crouched and waited for someone to come back.

Nobody came.

The whole when you first get your bb gun at the start of the game and what is said if you accidently begain shooting "pop" with it.. Also just sneak watching ferals, rad scorpions, and mole rats there kinda cute when there not trying to eat you...

Also finding a camp table (with an skeleton near by) pulling the skeleton so its streached out on the table and placing teddy bears and gnomes respectivly along each side of the table along with knifes and booze for my own home made " Toy peace accords" were they recognise the true threat and band together. Ahem though that might not actually fit what you guys are talking about

ahuh (to much time on my hands)

slowly sneaks away

Finding bottles of beer and packs of cigarettes in the ruined desks at the elementary school...

Uhh....

There are so many others. I play this game and always think to myself "oh, that's neat" but can't think of specific examples. I may report back later, haha ;)

lol yeah, I always thought that was funny too. :P

Um I guess I like how Tenpenny Tower is very clean compared to the other settlements in the Wasteland. Every other city like Megaton, Rivet City, and Underworld has trash on the ground but in Tenpenny Tower they keep the place very tidy.

I like how every settlement has the same type of citizens. Like every major settlement has a sheriff or security chief, a doctor, a repairman, a corrupt business man, a prosttute, a town drunk and/or junkie, etc.

Also I like how General Chase in Operation Ancourage smokes a cigar compared to the other NPCs who smoke cigarettes. That's just something I'd expect from an American Army General in the 1950's culture and obviously the creators thought about that too.

Way up North somewhere I saw 2 wastelanders looking at an Enclave eyebot and wondering what it was doing. They were at the bottom of a canyon somewhere.

Edit: I just found a satallite tower with a whole bunch of empty whisky bottles on top of one of the dish antennas. I laughed a good long time.
