Favorite little details

Up north today and sat in a chair upstairs in a barn...and there right in front of me were about 8 tin cans and bottles lined up for target practice. Just might be my favorite detail---makes FO3 such a joy. Your favorite detail?

I like, when you're wandering around downtown near the mall, and it's quiet, and I like to look at all the cut stone faces in the buildings.

Here are just a few of the details I find interesting.:)

1. Little bits of dust floating through the air when you walk through an abandoned building.

2. The little clouds of dirt that spray up when caught by an errant breeze...they look like tiny tornados.

3. The green-glowing little bits of radioactive particles that flit through the air when you go near a contaminated area.

4. The way the sun glitters off the water in the early morning hours.

I love the atmosphere that the metros give off. The skeletons that some of them have and their placement is both erie and cool. Ex: just went through one not too long ago in which there was a skeleton sitting on a bench with his arm outstretched like he was relaxing. creepy. you get the feeling that he was minding his own business waiting for his metro train to arrive and then....bang...Great War.

The glowing embers and ash motes swirling above an ash pile, that mere moments prior was a VATS target for a Sneak Critical using the Alien Blaster.

I like some of the little details.

Like the dripping blood from some of the hanging Gore Bags.

Or the light smoke after firing a gun.

The empty bottle of whiskey and a syringe of Med-X behind the preachers podium in the church

various staged scenes using teddy bears and gnomes, often involving beer.

The manikin wearing sixy sleepwear in the preservation station with some wine and a skeleton LOL.

The dead body in a certain women's restroom lying on the floor with a camera poised to take pictures from under the bathroom stall wall.

The protectron on the toilet in the robco facility that if you move it there is scrap metal in the toilet LOL!

The Abe Lincoln altar that has a knife and a pool of blood in front of it. That implies someone is offering sacrifices to Abe Lincoln LOL. Maybe Sacrificing Slavers?

I loved the pile of caps and the copy of Lying, Congressional Style in the Speaker's podium in the Capitol building.

Finding bottles of beer and packs of cigarettes in the ruined desks at the elementary school...

Uhh....

There are so many others. I play this game and always think to myself "oh, that's neat" but can't think of specific examples. I may report back later, haha ;)

I can't remember what it is called, but the place where the goul has placed toilet plungers all over the place, walls and ceiling. There is a damaged garden gnome with stimpaks and med ex syringes sticking out of it. That goul's been busy.

I doubt very much it'd be chess. Most likely they're playing draughts (I think the US calls it 'checkers').

Point taken.
I'd seen too many of the ones which only use shotglasses on the chessboard, hence why I thought more of draughts.

It's a shame it couldn't have been taken to your house as is, and then you could place it there as a nice centrepiece.

What mod do you use so that you can actually kick things?

You can kick tin cans and other things without mods. Your character just needs to walk or run into them
