I'm enjoying the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1114170-favorite-mer/ that's going around, since it's specific enough to allow people to give their rants about why they consider certain mer to be so great (or otherwise complete jerks). I figured we could do the same with the human races.

My favorite would have to be the Redguards, due to their fiery and individualist attitude. I really like the culture in Hammerfell we've seen through Daggerfall and Redguard, and they still have some of the best combat taunts in the game. My second choice, if there were one, would be the Nords for their wonderfully shamanistic culture and because they're probably the most organized and resolute humans on Tamriel after the fall of the Empire. Their culture gives the air of ancient tales and primal fears, stories of greatness and tragedy, legendary creatures and magical powers. The Bretons and Imperials are just too tame, in my opinion.

Redguard… Hands Down… Well balanced warriors and catching diseases in TES 3 svck.

Some of the coolest characters are Redgaurds, the mute body guard in Mournhold for one and then there's that redguard who is a member of the mages guild in Oblivion, gives you a very interesting conversation.

Nords. Perhaps my favourite race. I love their sense of honour and duty, and they know how to enjoy life. I love their culture, and their awesome armour making skills (though not as good as Orcs, but still good), and I love their respect for nature.

They also have great architecture, and are inspired by one the more awesome Human cultures.

They also love to hunt! ^_^

Bretons! If you're going to play one of the passionate, short-lived races, go all the way.

Redguards are pretty cool.

Nords for sure.

Nords I love them for the same reasons as Hircine and because they love to sail. The vikings in real life if they had not enough room on land they would lash navies together creating a giant fighting platform. Cold and slippery too I bet. They are smart and I think they would treat all other races fairly. (except in war)


Edit: Also because they bathed more than any other culture in RL. weekly for most it was monthly or even yearly.

They didn't wear pants either! Actually, those were the Celts.

Probably Nords. Mainly because of Stahlrim Armor (my favorite) and their awesome culture (drinking halls and general friendliness).

Plus they have cool last names.

The group I dislike the most would probably be Bretons, if only for their annoying voices. And that they have Merish ancestors.

If the Bretons are the offspring of Nords and High Elves, why aren't the Bretons even taller?

Bretons are actually supposed to be more merish looking. I don't know why they never were in game. I mean, http://www.elderscrolls.com/images/codex/races/breton.gif.

I would love it if they returned to that vision of Bretons.

Our of the current ones, Redguards. I do have a real soft spot for the historical Nedic populations however.

Nord followed closely by Redguard. I mean pankratosword is pretty cool.

I should probably say Nord, since I'm from Norway. But I have a soft spot for Imperials since my very first TES-character was an Imperial.

I gotta say Nords because I love their use of animals, how everything seems to be used and not wasted.

I would say bretons,because i'm english/british & if remember correctly,breton comes from brettony,where brits & celtics mixed with the french in the top left area of france i believe.
So its the closest thing i get to british in a way,or imperials ,who seem to be based on the roman empire,but they had people from all over europe & britain in their armies.
I would'nt mind nords,but i like to make my character look like me & nords are too tall,just my funny/quirky way i suppose.
Do you think we should be able to choose the height of our character no matter which race? ( within reason of course ).

Nords. I usually favour the Nordic faction or race in every game

My favorite race is definitely Redgaurd, mostly because of their Adrenaline Rush ability.

Also, their originating from an Island kinda makes me think of Samoans.
