Mainly videogame music, and within that everything from classical to chiptunes. As for my music machine, I use my laptop, and I don't use headphones.

While I wouldn't quite say these are my favorite bands (so many to choose, such little space), these are what have been interesting me the most lately.

Indie Rock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cS3NmClfaZU
Post hardcoe:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMOAXm94VWo
Mathrock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5otMxxoNuHw
Lo-Fi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoMdkyeZOqE

As for equipment, I mostly listen to music on my computer. When I'm mobile I have my Droid X but mainly I use my 80gb iPod Classic when I'm in the car and such. I use these headphones: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-G57G-Sports-Headphones-Reflective/dp/B000066CCU(I dunno why they cost $100 now, I bought em for like 20). I bought them a while ago and they still sound pretty nice, though they irritate my ears after a while.

http://omardigital.rodriguezlopezproductions.com/album/solar-gambling-2 is my favourite album right now.

I don't care about genres, and I especially don't care about people who argue over genre, good music is good, regardless.

My music equipment? I have a pair of Shure 440s, a Lexicon Omega mixer, Shure SM58 mic, microKORG, Korg nanokontrol, M-audio 49 key MIDI controller, Warwick Sweet 15.2 bass amp, Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe, and my newest addition, an as of yet unidentified vintage Denon turntable.

My favorite bands/songs change constantly, back and forth usually.

Rock/Hard Rock/Modern rock- Alter Bridge and basically any song from them.
Power Metal- Lost Horizon, Silent Force are some of my favorite bands from this genre
80s metal (I know it's not a genre, but I like all types of 80s metal pretty much) a lot of my favorite music comes from this era, early 90s and late 70s.

As for equipment, I use my computer with some logitech speakers. A Zune 16GB HD which in my car uses my normal car speakers and at work, my Bose headphones.

Alternative/Rock/etc..: Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of a Down, etc...
Deathcore: All Shall Perish (They seem like the only good deathcore band, which they really are IMO :P )
Death Metal: Woe Of Tyrants, Immolation, Arkaik, Ulcerate, Severed Savior, Anata, lots more...
Extreme Metal: Revocation
Metalcore: Parkway Drive, As Blood Runs Black (I think ABRB are considered deathcore but they don't sound like it to me :P )
Classics: Frank Sinatra

Edit: I use my logitech speakers on my comp or my iPod nano 4th gen. with purple Sony earphones. They look like the Skullcandy "smokin' buds" ones but are way better because Skullcandy is terrible at making quality anything.

Right now, I'm listening to Mac Miller's K.I.D.'S (Kicking Incredibly Dope [censored]) mixtape, and the first two albums by Between the Buried and me.

edit: Forgot to mention All Shall Perish's The Price of Existence. <

I'll just throw some individual songs out there. Completely unrelated to each other. Like, very unrelated.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=221T08FeLqw

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nd-A-iiPoLg&ob=av2em

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Xqgm1w1FcE&feature=fvst (Fantastic instrumental version of one of my favorite rock songs)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXFDQ6xRlqM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJJX1if_LFk (Everything about the Black Keys is extremely damn right, especially this cover)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dLAv0NklTg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYS732zyYfU

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lci0pnWk7nM&ob=av2el

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHerEOnajZg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPk11AugG4c (Doesn't have the full intro from the album, which is unfortunate because it's pretty hilarious. It was tough to pick just one Jackson song.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAwR6w2TgxY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgRsYkKb1eI

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59K2kF6o9Tk (I don't know if it's the best Stones song, but it sure is my favorite.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jusO0GJV98

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERiTX9Pa23c

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59cCIaibG2E (Truly a master of love songs. Honorable mention: Warm Love)

Well, I'd call this a good start. Tried to make it fairly diverse, and only list songs that I truly think are fantastic and bring something unique. And I omitted everything hip-hop related. I've made enough posts on this forum as long as this one on hip-hop songs alone.

There is a lot of good stuff there.

Jackson Browne is one I definitely forgot but should have mentioned. The Black Keys are great too.

You sir, know your stuff. :mohawk:

Thank you.

A few more:
Dire Straits (and solo Mark Knopfler)
Stevie Ray Vaughan

To introduce some of my more recent favorites:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vuadh1o0yC8
When you have played a year in Clapton's band and are in your tenth year as a full member of The Allman Brothers band (not to mention the fact that he was playing with them from the time he was twelve (and sitting in with the likes of Buddy Guy and Bob Dylan)) on top of a stellar solo career you know you are on to something special.

What some may call Nu-metal

Tool & APC
Deftones
Mudvayne

I just call it rock. Those are my top 3 bands of all time, but I like many others as well.
