Favorite Place to Live

I am tired of the same old residence (playing on PS3, no mods) ... I am aware of my options on alternative housing, but am curious what some others have used and how they like certain residences. I am partial to the abandoned tent near the Satcom relay - except for those two barrels.

the abandoned tent is nice if you can find it, somewhere up north near where The Pitt begins. Also any of the houses in minefield are great.

I like the Mechanists hideout, it's got most of the comforts of home..... but mainly because he has a cool door

There's a little apartment in the GNR building that I used as a base for awhile. It has 4 lockers, a fridge, a Nuka Cola machine, and a useable bed. Never had anything disappear. Enter the GNR building, turn left, then left again.

Add: I also used Reilly's Ranger Compound for awhile. There's a bed there, and some lockers.

i live in rivet most of the time, up in the bridge tower, there's beds up there and lots of storage, the armory is where i keep my stuff, but the mechanist forge is agood place i use on some playthroughs, i've used ranger compound, and the citadel works good once you get in there, or the outcast bases. rivet city is my favortire spot because its the biggest settlement.

The raider hideout across the street from the Arlington library is my new favorite place. Very defensible thanks to all the stairs you have to climb to get to the top floor. So all I have to do is lay a few BC mines down to take out enclave idiots who try to storm the place, and resettable bear traps. It has a workbench, fridge, 4 safes, a gun cabinet, working sink, and a bed. What more can a LW ask for :foodndrink:

I love living in the Sniper Shack. It's on a big hill by Rockbreaker's Last Gas and has everything you'd want with a home; a bed, plenty of storage and a lot of good loot. Just be careful because the surrounding area is crawling with enemies.

It takes 3 seconds. Personally, I think it's worth it. I wish they were friendly, though.

I got all the way to L20 without getting either house, and I live in Brandice's House in Grayditch (with my faithful cyborg soulmate Cross and my stalwart super mutant manservant Fawkes). It has a bathroom, a radio, a computer, books, a pretty nice bed with a bedspread, and a wardrobe to store stuff. And it's a townhouse, and townhouses are classy.

Arlington House, the best one IMO. Has LOADS of secure containers and a shrine to Lincoln in the basemant. And the Luck bobblehead is a nice bonus. Or the Gibson house in Minefield.

Don't the raiders respawn, though? Or maybe I'm getting confused with the Enclave.

No they don't

But there are three different respawns in the vicinity....an enclave vertibird drop right outside...talon a little to the south and mutants to the east

That’s my favorite also. I did stay with Pumpkin for a short while, but moved back across from the library.

I found a spot in one of the Metro stations or tunnel systems in an earlier play-through, some guy (maybe a ghoul) had a small Nuka-Cola collection, a storage room, and I believe a workbench was close by. That was some time ago, I can’t remember exactly where. I may give it a try when I run across it again.

i just found what i believe is "a wanderer"'s camp, it looks really cool, got a lil bit of everything to get by. i'm thinking of moving in, not sure about respawning enemies in the area tho. am i right in thinking all storage containers are safe? even outdoors? or would i come home to find raiders are killing me with my prized uniques or worse run off with them never to be seen again?
