Favorite power armor model?

Post » Thu Jan 21, 2016 9:24 pm

The Power Armor is an improvement to me since it now functions more like the lore in that its a vehicle rather than body armour.....not sure about the Fusion Core mechanic, but for me its an improvement on the earlier version.

Yeah, the feel of it is so much better than in 3/NV. I just wish it weren't tied to a consumable, ammunition-type mechanic. Balance it some other way that doesn't legit give me anxiety.

Yes totally! I actually enjoy watching the brotherhood walking around in those giant walking tanks. I'm glad Beth took time out of their busy schedule to focus on the power armor. Every time I climb in some power armor, I'm always impressed with the ingress/egress animation that takes place. So well done.

I think Bethesda might've copied some things from Fallout: Equestria. The fusion core mechanic was one thing that was in that fanfic. Assuming that there wasn't a fusion core mechanic ever before though, mind you. But that fanfic also provided the idea that Power Armor has the same weakness as vehicles in Halo does. Meaning that an overcharge shot of electricity (like from a well-placed pulse grenade) can potentially and temporally disable the armor. Which means the person inside will be completely helpless and stuck in said power armor until their suit is back on again.

Are you actually attempting to claim that a fanfic "came up" with the idea of an EMP being harmful to Powered armor?

No. Just the idea of it being in the Fallout universe. I know that the general idea has been around much longer but hadn't seen anything about it being in the Fallout series as a whole for Fallout's Power Armor. Plus, novels have came up for fresh/new ideas before mate so why you sound so surprising that you've read my post in that way?

because that is absurd fantasy. It is more akin to common sense that anything Powered would be weak to EMP, especially in Fallout. Even though in F3 Beth didn't give pulse grenades the extra damage they still managed to mention the weakness and show it in the very 1st DLC.

I am just surprised that someone would actually be naive enough to think an awful fanfic came up with a common sense concept for an old franchise

Firstly, again, I thought it was the first time that the common sense concept was actual used for the Fallout franchise. I don't remember anything about pulse grenades paralyzing power armored people in any of the games themselves.

Secondly, the fanfic is f-ing amazing. 9/10 (I never give 10/10 due to belief that nothing is perfect and rarely give 9/10. Most things falls under 7/10 or 8/10 for me). Not awful. Hell, I have an actual printed version of it for a reason because it's a great novel... Well, novels I should say. (620,231 words can't fit in one book and has to be separated either by volume or in two books). I guess it depends how you look at it... Going by volumes as separated books, then it would be novels but the story as a whole? That would be just a novel.

T-60 with full Titanium coating, Vented legs, Shock mod arms and jet pack body. Helps to make short work of most Raiders and Gunners in melee mode. I really love jumping from the edge of a bridge onto an enemy. :D

X-01 arms and legs with pzeltonic chest (no idea how to spell it) think it a unique t51-b and a t51-b helmet to.

Railroad chest piece its black with a little lamp and the rest the red with black flames paint.

My favorite Power Armor Model?

Why Samus Aran, of course! https://www.google.com/search?q=samus+aran&espv=2&biw=1097&bih=546&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiCvuapg-LJAhVDmh4KHTXHDmcQ_AUIBigB#tbm=isch&q=samus+aran+no+suit

Ah, wait, you meant the other kind of model.

In that case, I've got to go with the X-01 for me and the Raider for Companions/Settlers.

Aesthetically: T-51,

Functionally: X-01.

I chose T-51 though.

I've long been a fan of both the T-51 and the Advanced Power Armor (X-01). It's hard far me to vote for just one of these but I picked the T-51 this time.

I like the look of the T-60, and with some of the other "items" you acquire through missions it's not a bad suit. I primarily use the X-01 for protection though, even though I hate the look of it.

X armor is best armor. It just has a sinister look to it, especially when the eyes glow red.

I do like the look of the T51.

The X1 is so darn ugly...
