Favorite Preset Class?

Post » Tue Feb 02, 2010 2:55 am

Sorry couldn't add warrior due to only 20 questions allowed.

Maybe I should have put them in groups.....Owell.

So your favorite preset class? personally, and which one you would use.

Also which one describes you or your playstyle?

Witch Hunter is my favorite, and seems to be my playstyle.

Like to personally kill conjurers and necromancers, always fun to do spell-range to spell battles.

Hmm.. there's no poll. Anyway, it's kinda obvious by my name. My favorite default class is Assassin. My first, and main character was one, and it has been my personal favorite ever since.

I'd like to vote, but there is no poll.

But Assassin for me as always, only for RP-ish reasons, because in OB some skills are redundant like acrobatics, lockpicking etc

My first ever character was the Warrior class. It's a horrible class to be honest. My favourite is probley Battlemage or Spellsword.

Spellsword is probably the best of a really bad lot. If you go with atronach birthsign it works out pretty well.

If you make your poll, just leave Warrior out of it. Warrior is my pick for worst class. If someone put a gun to my head and forced me to play it, I'd use the minor magic skills, stay in sneak mode so Athletics wouldn't level, and level only the Endurance major skills until Endurance was maxxed.

I've only used Assassin and Spellsword :D

Stealthy sneak attacker and a mage/warrior hybrid, what more can you need?

Though it would be interesting to try pure mage and warrior too sometime.

Spellsword. Some of the default classes are redundant and have some combination of marksman hand to hand blunt and blade. Unless you plan on shooting an arrow then hitting with a claymore smashing with a mace then punching someone in the face. If you like that then more power to you

I'm a fan of the premade classes. I see no point in making a character that isn't premade. It's not like I'm going to come up with something new and clever that Bethesda didn't think of. It's pretty much all the same give or take 1 or 2 skills, any custom class that is.

Anyway, I'm a fan of the Warrior and Mage premade classes.

Agent. The only premade to my knowledge with both Illusion and Marksman.

So you're a fan of having blade blunt and hand to hand? How do you pull that off?

Sure am. And what do you mean "how do you pull that off"..? I pull it off by role-playing as a Warrior who is good at every type of combat, and as a Warrior who uses one of every weapon for different situations.

Ya I couldn't really do that. Especially using hand to hand. I just stick with one weapon and switch to Umbra when I'm out of charge

I like spellsword so far but I've done battlemage a witchhunter type and crusader.

Added a bit latter:

Spellsword can also be good if you place a bunch of fortify magicka enchants on your armor and shield. Even better if its from maxed out fortify magicka sigil stones.

I believe you can edit your original post to include the poll back in it was early in the morning but I believe I remember doing that with my destruction spell type poll in the morrowind general section...

When I play I usually end up with agent as my Baurus class, and that was the first class I played oblivion with.
So for lack of a personal fav, I'll go for agent.

I've never played a preset class. Always custom.

Buarus more often than not suggests Agent. Looking at simply the short http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Classes#Standard_Classes (ignoring the major skill selections), I would say that Witchhunter comes closest to my preferred Mystic Archer.
