Favorite Quests

Post » Tue Sep 07, 2010 11:51 am

I've never seen a thread like this (granted, I haven't been on the general discussion board too long, but still), so I felt like starting one. Reminisce about your favorite quests from any of the Elder Scrolls games, be it faction questlines, a misc. quest, or, I suppose, the main quest if you're feeling unoriginal :P. Reminisce, dammit!

Whodunit? is probably my favorite (or at least the most memorable, to me) out of the three games. I felt like such a miserable bastard when I was carrying out my duty, especially since my character took such pleasure in it, luring his targets into easier locations with soothing words. No other quest in any of the games affected me so strongly.

'Whodunnit?', the battle against Umaril, 'The Citadels of the Sixth House', and Hircine's Hunt (I forget its real name).

Whodunit was an awesome quest, along with The Ultimate Heist.

I loved the Molag Bal shrine quest and was surprised to see how many people didn't like it in that most hated Daedra thread. It made me really nervous the first time when that giant demonic statue told me i was supposed to let this guy kill me and that this monster was going save me IF he felt like it. Of course the first thing I set out to do after finnishing the quest was to go find that sap and club him to death with my new mace, but I don't think I could find him. I also liked when you had to cast that nudity spell at that party and I had to run out of town naked with no stuff, trying to get to my Thieves guild Doyen.

That one quest with the White Guar remains one of my favourites. Why? It has a white Guar! :D

If whodunnit is that one in the mansion where you're the murderer, then I loved that one. Probably the best time I had in Oblivion, maybe rivaling the Shivering Isles.

For Morrowind, it's the Bloodmoon MQ just for the quality of the story in the quest itself.

  • Lifting the Veil
  • Ultimate Heist
  • Shadow over Hackdirt
  • Paranoia
  • Freeing Slaves in Morrowind (Not necessarily a quest, it was one of mine, though)
  • That quest where you locate the scholar who was lost because of the mating Kagouti. When my character was yelling "Stoopid!" I thought it was the Kagouti, and I was rofling.

Arrg! I had a huge list of quests that I liked written up, and I accidentally hit the "Wikipedia" button at the top of my browser. Now it's all gone!

I'll post my favourite quests later.

edit: Damn you Wikipediaaaaaaaaa!

The entire Dark Brotherhood questline and The Ultimate Heist run every other quest and questline Bethesda has done into the ground.

It is known the only thing that's better is Morrowind's Main Quest with Julan in tow, but that doesnt count. :P

The best quests in Morrowind would have to be the stronghold quests, Meet Sul-Matuul, and Mehra Milo and the Lost Prophecies. I'm also quite fond of most of the quests in Bloodmoon pertaining to Raven Rock.

For Oblivion, I'm going to go with Whodunit, Two Sides of the Coin, and even Blood of the Divines. It was your standard dungeon crawl but I liked the touch with the Underking.

I'm gonna go with every quest in Morrowind where you weren't treated as a lower than dirt peon, and Whodunnit. That's about it from OB though.

"Hunt for the Spirit Bear", Bloodmoon, human side.

Something a tad panicy about having your followers killed one by one.

The Ultimate Heist.

I thought Whodunit was extremely poorly done, great idea, bad execution, I didn't find it as fun as it was hyped up to be.

You know... I've never once gone human side. I think I might try it. Be the prey for once! ^_^

So are you just going to plop an Avatar of yourself down, Prince of the Hunt?

Just to see what it feels like to be the prey? I'm sure they'd be... equally terrified and relieved to know Hircine's on their side.

It's actually more fun than the werewolf side, believe it or not.

In the totum quest, they send you alone vs a cave full of werewolves, spirit bear you're with 3 other travelers.

Speaking of which, it's very strange when I'm battling Hircine to the death. I think I've been to too many of Sheogorath's parties. I should hang with Malacath. Might avoid Sheo's ways.

Think of it as... one aspect of you is the Hunter, while the other is the Prey.

Or you could hang with Malacath. I wish I got to go to Daedric parties, they must be interesting.
