Favorite race and why?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2016 12:32 am

I'm just curious on what race people like to play as and why specifically that race.

For example I've played morrowind skyrim and now skyrim special edition as a argoian bc I think they look the coolest.

I also like the argoians bc they have the breath underwater perk with the ability to self heal once a day. I find them to be quick and strong. I also think the argoains have the best customization out of all the races. My first time through skyrim on the x 360 I was a war hammer wielding heavy armor tank style charter. Also I'm playing a orc at this time just to try something new.

Also I think the Argonians have the best back story

I like the looks of many I think the first character I ever played in Skyrim was a Khajit. My first elder scrolls series game character was a Bosmer in Morrowind.

But the play style I like these days one of my favorite things Bound Weapons and there efficient automatic soul trap property you can give them. I do not use this to trap useful grand souls (I buy those) rather at every store I buy any empty petty, lesser, or common soul gems and I fill them automatically every garbage enemy (wolves, undead, etc). Then I store the soul gems (filled) in my house. Right now I am on my first run of the ps4 (I switched to console from gaming on computer)... and i haven't used any of those soul gems yet but I think I have 100-200 of them right now and I am like level 28. At some point when my leveling up has a bit plateaued out or rather just whenever I choose I will hit the mage star stone and power level the enchant skill by enchanting tons of items. I have also saved unenchanted better than average item like elven or orcish plus quality things. So by that time I might have over 300 soul gems. And I don't have to use all of them I can just use 100 and see how it is....

So Bretons have a +10 bonus to conjuration and they start with summon familiar so it will be as soon as possible to start collecting souls. The other reason I choose Breton for my ps4 1st run was that they have +25 Magic Resistance and if you stack Magic Resistance (items or perks or potions) as you get closer to 100% resist each marginal point added gets better and better which is in other words 'increasing returns' rather than 'diminishing returns'.

I don't particularly like the looks of Bretons though but I also don't dislike them.

My list goes like this:

1. Bretons tied with Khajiit- I like that Bretons aren't just ordinary humans but rather are partially of elven blood. Khajiit have very interesting lore and I think they just look cool!

2. Redguards- very versatile

3. Dunmer- really good war wizards

4. Nords and Imperials tied- I like them both the same.

5. Bosmer- awesome archers (and can be quite savage!)

6. Orsimer- Like them for their strength and high quality smithing skills

7. Argonian- just "meh"

8. Altmer- I dislike their attitude

I'm quite fond of the lore behind both Bosmers and Khajiit.

I've loved the Dunmer ever since Morrowind. I adore Ashlander culture. I would love to live in a Yurt in the Grazelands.

Like Pseron, I've loved the Dunmer since Morrowind. I love their look, history, culture, and architecture. The only thing I dislike about them is. Slavery. I never liked how they enslaved the "lesser" races.

I play races based off which class of character I am going to play.

Stealth....

1) Khajiit(male)

2) Dunmer(Female, with smoothing face mod)

Warrior...

1) Nord(Female)

2) Orc(Male)

Mage....

1) Altmer(Female with smoothing face mod)

2) Dunmer(Female with smoothing face mod)

I have started in the MANY characters I have tried, just about all races, but can't seem to play the others longer than a few days at most and end up going back to those listed above. My favorite in each is the number one, and the second is an alternate that I will play for something different on a character. Probably my favorite above all is Khajiit, with second to Altmer mage.

Nord.

I love the culture, the lore and the phsicalities of the race. I have an interest - actually an obsession - with Norse culture and the Vikings. That the Nords are so similar to Vikings is only an added bonus.

I love the way that they revere their Pantheon. I love that they hold dearly honour and prowess in battle. Also, how simple yet admirable they view life: Victory or Sovngarde...

The race I choose is always influenced by the game's setting. Both in terms of location and in terms of what kind of chosen one you are. But I've got a slight bias for Imperials because of Morrowind, and because with early Morrowind mods, I thought Imperials had the best faces. So I always do at least one Imperial playthrough.

For Skyrim, Nord and Imperial are my most played races. After that, it's Redguard, then maybe Breton. I've got some time as Bosmer, Dunmer and Orc, too.

For Oblivion it was Imperial and then Redguard. I know I played a lot, but I don't remember any of my other characters.

For Morrowind, everything, but mostly Dunmer and Imperial. I had a really long, complete Altmer playthrough, too.

Lol, the Dunmer don't discriminate on who they enslave. You can even buy a Dunmer slave in one of the Main Quest segments.

From a story point of view: Dunmer. Morrowind was amazing and there's so much culture and backstory for them.

From a gameplay point of view: Breton. 25% magic resistance from the start of the game and that spell absorption ability? Yes please.

always Argonian, Elves and humans are boring, I always go for the non-human looking race, whenever I get the option for it.

I also like reptiles so it was a easy choice.

Also pretty badass how they sent the daedra running with their tails between their legs!

Dega, but Daytona is an hour away.

Orcs and Dunmer. I play a human in real life so I like to be something else in the game.

I've always liked Bristol, myself...

Orcs, Dunmer, Nords, and Redguards, in no particular order. I love their Lore as much as I love to play as them.

I choose race based on practicality,if im building a mage I'll use a High Elf for the early magicka bonus and I use Khajjit for everything else because of the early sneak bonus, that early bonus really does help, also I hunt a lot so night eyes is very useful.

I think that early game is the only time that race matters, generally speaking.

Nords are the Fairest Race in Lore.

I stuck to Nords after the Bloodmoon Expansion in Morrowind.

Khajiit, Dunmer, and Breton are my most played but I don't really dislike any of them. Well, I'm not terribly fond of the altmer and their hubris, but I've had great fun with some altmer playthroughs. I've only played as an orc once, and that didn't get much past level 20.

Nords.....isn't it obvious?

Seriously though, love playing as Nords, that's my number one race. Every so often I'll play as an Altmer or Khajiit.

Orcs because they are so different than other games/stories depicts them. I like the culture and of course, The Code Of Malacath. It's fair and just, yet simple.
