Breton. I like having the extra magicka and the 50% resistance to magic.

I would probably have to agree with you. Normally I would go with the Khajiits because the idea of a playable feline humanoid is awesome but I just don't think they captured the image structure and face of them quite right so its a little disapointing, though I still enjoy them.

I don't like the elves either. High elves are too snobby, I don't like the whole mini sun under my skin look they have going on, and the weakness they have on top of the above 2 just outweigh the 100 magicka boost. Dark elves I've never really liked just cauae I don't like the skin tones they have. And wood elves ... something about them being very short just makes me not want to play them. I've not played much with imperials but I think I'm going to try one on my upcoming playthrough. My class is ubdecided though

Can't really vote on the poll, as I like all human and elven races about equally. Even back in my D&D days I always played humans or elves. If TES had dwarves, gnomes, and halflings, I'd enjoy playing these, too.

I like Bretons because they're a mage human race. I've never really been a fan of elves, but Bretons are cool and they have cute accents.

My second favorites are Argonians. There's a lot of really friendly Argonians in the game and I've always been curious about what their homeland Black Marsh is like because I think swamps are cool. Also I feel sorry for them because they were slaves to the Dunmer, one of the reasons I hate Dark Elves...

Nord, for some reason I've always felt more comfortable playing a Nord. That's what current character is, actually...

Yeah I liked Khajiits for similar reasons. I wanted to see what the desert lands of Elsweyer were like. Plus I think the way the Khajiit appearance/shape is determined is cool. How it has to do with the moons and such. I usually play a Khajiit as the typical assassin following through the DB line. But for some reason wheb offered to become a vampire as a Kh>iit I decline because for some reason a cat/vampire doesn't seem right to me.

I voted for the Khajiit as well. I find a lot of their culture interesting, and the way they speak is quite unique as well. I just like that Beth went above and beyond the traditional depiction of a feline humanoid race as either incredibly beastial, or incredibly attractive.

And while I know it's a bit off topic... If you're on the PC, Deltace, there's a really good mod that lets you go through Elsweyr called Elsweyr: The Deserts of Aniquena. It's not on the Nexus at the moment, but I know there's a link n this forum to it somewhere.

I really like all the races except for Khajiit (Alergic to cats) and Dark Elves (Necrophilia... no thank you).

However I think Orcs are my favorite.

Thanks for the thought of telling me but sadly I am on the PS3 version of the game. I would love to see (on console versions) a panthere like skin for the Khajiit. I know you can chance its skin color to almost pure black but it would be interesting for Khajiits to be able to chose your like type of cat skin. Like tiger, panther, cheetah ect.but then that goes a little against how khajiits are because you would be chabging between species of khajiit not just skins. They did a great job on how they look but I feel the mouth/face/nose area is a bit off. Also, for all races in general, more hairstyles for thwe love of good! And maybe sectional tattoos. Why can't I be bald haha. They really need to expand on hairstyles at the very least. Most of them look ... well I would never pick them. The only one I get with the human/ elf races are the wind braids or windbound or rogue knot. For Khajiit I go headband (honestly who the hell picka the one where it looks like a humidity attack from hell). And for argonians sincew I've only played them twice I've gone with the single dorsald fin one.

I have also noticed one thing. In all my forum experiences of oblivion, while no one says they dislike Imperials, no one says they like them either. Its almost as if they are a forgotten race. Anyone xcare to explain?

I'm racist against the beast-races, and the Altmer are more civilized then most, so. Yeah. But the Bosmer make a close second, for me.

Bretons FTW. Magic is awsome and and the resistance is awsome (I tend to prefer a more defensively minded character.) I mostly like them for RPing purposes. I always feel the most "at home" with bretons. I've always played Valiri as a breton and I'd find it strange or even impossible to play her as anything else, even though it would be very much possible.

Ive played like 9million variations of the same Imperial (Zakarius Svedlin was always an Imperial but I messed around with attributes and stuff). I like them because they are undirected, however they also arent very good at anything particular, and their racial powers are a bit lame.

Yeah, I think the issue with Imperials is the fact that they're just kinda, well... bland. That, and there's the fact that they're almost everywhere, Cyrodiil being what it is.

That being said, I plan on making an Imperial character again one of these days; for some reason they feel like the ones that should go through the MQ.

Bosmer/wood elves. I'm just gonna quote myself from a recent similar thread:

My favorite are Bosmer/wood elves because I like small and quick characters and I like bows. Also Bosmer are less civilized than other races, which I like. They are still wild, living simply in nature and not getting caught up in society. Dunmer are probably my second favorite because of their personalities and some of their lore and I think they're the best looking race in the game, just ahead of Bosmer.

...no one says they dislike Imperials...

On the contrary, I've said it several times. I don't like Imperials, I don't like the Empire, I don't like the Septim line. I would love to play an Elder Scrolls game that did not contain any of those things. Quest-wise, the biggest flaw of the Elder Scrolls games is that they continually force the player to side with the Empire if they wish to play the main quest. Fortunately for those of us who would like to see the Empire disappear we are not forced to play the main quest.

Khajiits! I love the innocence of them, but they're sneaky as well, making good theives and have reasonable racial powers. Dunmer are my second favourite as they can make brilliant battlemages, being skilled at both magic and combat.

I have played more Dunmer characters than any other race. Besides, Falanu Hlaalu is a Dunmer. So Dark Elves ftw!

I used to play mostly Bretons with the odd Redguard thrown in - both fabulous races that can make for some very powerful characters.

About a year and a half ago, I decided to build a little glass cannon and created a Bosmeri she-elf. She is not perfect, but she has wormed her way into my heart. So I voted for the little elves of the forest.
