Favorite Race

Post » Mon Feb 01, 2010 3:03 am

I'm positive this poll has been done before, but I don't want to take the time to search for it :P

I'd also like to know why you chose the race you did

Mine is Nord, I chose them because of the way I play the game, I like to be a warrior of great renown and I feel that Nords start off with excellent stats to do just that :)

I favor Breton's, even though my strongest character is an Altmer.

I only pick race based on the image and look that I want. I don't care about their stats because that will change over time. For the character I have been playing for the last year and a half or so, I chose a wood elf. She's great.

Khajiit or Dunmer usually. I have started my first Altmer character and I love him.

classes my be unimportant for some things (a imperial can pull of an orc's job) but you cant choose ANY class, if you try to pull of a mage with an orc your gonna die before you yell arrggghh

for me? its the altmer, and thats a high elf for you who do not memorize scientific names :nono:

lotsa magicka, a couple enchanted trinkets neutralize the... uh... side effects :cold: :flamed: :shocking:

Redguard, Tobias my favorite character is one and he is epic, I managed to remove what I like to call the white smudge that redguards have on their face, gave him green eyes, and wow he turned out attractive O.o
@ souro I made a Orc mage, i'll admit it was hard in the begining but he came up very strong in the end!

I really have to disagree with this statement. It may be a little bit more difficult to play as an Orc Mage or a female Bosmer that uses a War Hammer and wears Heavy Armor, but it can be done, and done well if you take the time to understand your characters strengths and weaknesses and alter your play style accordingly.

Funny. I played a pure mage orc once. Born under the mage birthsign. He started with great magic resistance, willpower and hitpoints. We got him into the University and worked on his intelligence. Once you get some skill in the schools of magic, the casting cost goes way down. He had plenty of magic and did just fine. If he had wanted more magic, he would have just equipped some fortify magicka items. Hmm, I don't recall him dying - of course I never tried yelling arrgggh. :)

Khajiit since I read the infernal city, re-read all in game books on their race and started playing as an Ohmes-raht as well.
Not an exclusive love but still my favourite.

Orc Mage sounds like fun. Breton warrior is fun too. If you can get just 50% magical resistance than you've leveled the playing field pretty quickly.

I can never decide between Argonian and Breton. I think they're both great, but for different reasons, making it impossible for me to pick a favourite put of them.

Khajiit. I can't exactly pinpoint my reasons except that I love to play them. It's perhaps because I have two cats.

The other favourite would be Breton. Easy to play, easy to make a pretty face out of the initial mess that facegen throws at you.

I've also played quite a while as a wood elf, but that was years ago. I can't get into them now anymore.

I have tried to play as Argonian, Orc, Redguard, Dunmer, but I never could make their faces look in a way that didn't make me want to throw up (or to have yet another go at it with show_racemenu (or is it enable_racemenu?)) after one or times of opening the inventory and having to look at their ugly face.

Nord and Altmer I don't like to play because the characters are too tall. I tried. It just felt wrong.

Imperial I never tried and will never try to. Imperialist pigs that they are.

Imperial FTW.

My first character is an Imperial, mostly due to the fact that Imperial is the native race, so it kinda felt right. Plus, they look human, so it made sense to me.

Your right, this poll has been done several times before. The thing is nobody will ever pass up the chance to voice their oppinion :P so there's no reason not to post another one.

I myself LOVE bretons. I used to play Morrowind almost exclusively as a dunmer but now I play bother Morrowind and Oblivion pretty much exclusively as bretons. I'm a big fan of most forms of magic but I don't care for destruction so much. Besides, if I lived in Tamriel I think I would be a breton. At least I would want to be a breton.

I love the Bretons, not physically built for combat, but is super smart and can melt you with gamma rays from your hands

I voted Dark Elf, but only the Dunmer of Morrowind are appealing to me. In Daggerfall and Arena I played Bretons, and I Cyrodiil I took Altmer for the first time, I liked it a lot. Probably my second fav now :P

My favorite are Bosmer/wood elves because I like small and quick characters and I like bows. Also Bosmer are less civilized than other races, which I like. They are still wild, living simply in nature and not getting caught up in society. Dunmer are probably my second favorite because of their personalities and some of their lore and I think they're the best looking race in the game, just ahead of Bosmer.

I also disagree with this. My favorite character (played in both Morrowind and Oblivion) was a Breton Warrior. I've never chosen any other race for a pure Warrior. And if I were making another Warrior today I would pick Breton again.

Red Gaurd, love to range with him and a little flashy sword play. Also redgaurds are mysterious, mysteries are always awesome.
