Oh noes, I didn't know I was that mainstream. I choose dark elves since they look cool, sound cool (in Morrowind, not that wimpy Oblivion voice), and they somewhat favour magic.
My second vote would be either argonians or bretons.

Dunmer, followed closely by Khajiit.

In all fantasy games I like elves and mages, so Dunmer are my first chioce, closely followed by Altmer. In all my years I played TES games, I played thowe two almost exclusively. Once I tried a breton in Morrowind, but did not get too far with him. Recently I tried a redgurad in Oblivion, who turned out to be quite fun, but now I'm back to my elves.

Bretons are my favorite to play as, but Dark Elves are my favorite race.

I like to play as a Breton because that's probably what I'd be if I were a TES character.. a scrawny, pale, intellectual white dude. Plus, magic is awesome, and Bretons come with plenty of it, as well as ample resistance to it, which is certainly helpful with the difficulty cranked.

I think I've extensively played every race there is though. More Bretons than anything, but I've gotten one of each species to high levels in MW and OB (only played a breton and argonian in DF), except maybe Khajiits. I've hardly ever played as one, just not into being a furry.

If I'm playing a warrior - Redguard. For everything else - Khajiit.

Wow the redgaurds are getting dominated... oh and the poor... poor... High elves...

I personally like them because they are like ME. Tall, strong, muscular, and tough as nails. Like He-Man (I HAVE THE POWER!).

Actually, just mostly the tall part. But they are similar to how I would like to think of myself.
Plus I hate the idea of being shorter than any NPC.

But yeah, I used them for my combat/stealth hybrid character. :toughninja:

Just because Nord culture is all barbariany it doesn't mean your character has to be like that. For example, I RP my Nord character as a more Imperialized Nord, not retaining much of the barbariany culture.

Though I would like some lore-nut to come along and explain to me that all Nord culture is not barbariany... :nerd:

Take the real world as an example: just because they are rednecks in the US doesn't mean all white people have to be rednecks.

Is it me or were altmer males easier to get along with in MW? I also like the look of the dunmer in MW better. Or at least they should use the OB model, but bring back the mohawks and 3D beards.

Anyway, OT, I've been playing nothing but nord lately. When I started out playing MW, I actually played orcs.

Dunmer and Orcs. Orcs are by far the most underrated race. In Morrowind they're much better than Nords when it comes to warrior classes. Oblivion they're about the same with Nords because level scaling gimps the berserk power.

Normally just a racist Dark Elf. Racist, of course, towards those kittens and lizards.

I don't really prefer any one race over the rest. I've made interesting characters out of all the races, and probably made a fairly even amount between all the races. If I had to pick which one I favored most, it would be a 3-way tie between the Dunmer, the Redguards, or the Argonians, and neither would be a clear winner, so I'll neglect to vote.

My first character will definitely be Dunmer, they just suit me best. I also like to play Bretons, for the magic advantage.

Imperials are my favourite.

Argonian: cool style, water breathing and disease resistance built in. Mostly its about the visual aspects though.

High Elf for me I like their massive magicka researves and I really like elves in general.I have the perfect magic weilder with my elf.

Most of my characters where Nords.

Although my favorite race that I don't play are Argonians.

Dark Elves, mainly. Imperials is second most common that I play with.

I like magicians but hate elves. So I usually go with Bretons. I guess end of the day I could go with whatever I want its only 50 magica, but I want to be strong in magic, I just hate elves so I don't go with high elves. Now if and when TES5 comes out maybe they'll switch racial abilities up a bit and I'll change my mind, but I still wont play an elf. I say nords should be the magical powerhouse race of the future, make them skinny and weak but bursting with magic.

If I could plunk racial stats on a races appearance I'd slap high elf stats onto the nords appearance, oh well I can get a decent blond from bretons.

Really? Redguards only have two votes? While Nords are my favorite race, Redguards are awesome too people!

Dark Elf overall...as a spellsword or nightblade character they're always a blast to play.

And what do you know, they're leading in the polls as usual.
