Adoring Fan... jk

the graphics are spectacular, and the open world is great, the quests are decent (though now slightly repetitive after all these years), and the mechanics work well

so in a nutshell, almost everything

Straight out...the freedom. Just about every other RPG(mainly speaking about DAO) keeps restrictions on you(Class specific abilities from the start). Oblivion just lets you do almost anything(Everything if you're modded) you want.

Freedom, I love that you can do practically anything you want to do, not even any quests, if you wanted you could be an evil killing machine :flamethrower: or just a lowly peasant! No quests are forced, although the main quest is sor of nudged upon you. The quests are fantastic (well most of them), and the world and graphics are diverse and amazing. I've never played a game quite like it.

Make that a third vote for freedom. The Elder Scrolls games are the only single-player games I know that allow me to be who I want and do what I want when I want to do it. That puts the series heads and shoulders above other games.

The freedom and exploration areamazing. The world is so alive too. I could easily get lost in it for hours at a time.

Honestly? My favorite thing is the houses. I love having a place my character can call home! That's something most RPGs don't have. I love being able to purchase a house, buy furniture for it, and then collecting items to decorate it any way I want. My favorite home has to be Frostcrag Spire, it's just perfect for a mage character and if fantasy worlds existed I would love to live in there practising my magic. :)

The open world, Being able to do whatever you want, Character Creation, The Dungeons, The armor, I could go on for two pages worth of text telling how godly this game is.

Honestly? The mechanics, mathematics, and technical aspects of the game. I really appreciate the game more after getting into the nitty-gritty of it.

What is your favorite thing about Oblivion?

Honestly, probably when you get to the point where you are at the top of the DB, Arena Champ, head of the MG, FG, and all other factions, and every city you walk thru is either enthralled by your glory or in complete fear.

Oh, that, and making up spells to cast on yourself so you can run around and level.

Designing my own class.

Designing my own spells and enchantments.

Dressing how I want. Riding the horse I want. Living where I want. Going where I want. . . . Living life in Cyrodiil anyway I want.
