Favorite Type of Power Armour

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 4:11 pm

There are many types of P.A. in the game, and I wanted to see what your favorites were.

My favorite is Ashurs Power Armour, because I like how it looks thrown together and dirty, which is more wastlandish then some perfect clean armor.

If I'm in an energy weapon mood, I go with Tesla. Otherwise, I use BOS, because they are who I most associate with.

I also like Ashur's. Also, old style Enclave PA. Like in Fallout 2.

I haven't come across Ashurs Power Armor(is it from one of the DLCs?) yet.

I like the colour scheme of the Outcast Power Armor. In fact, that is what I have Charon wearing at the moment.

Hellfire armor. Every other kind of power armor looks ridiculous to me.

I don't generaly use power armor much but if I do it's either hellfire or outcast armor. The outcast's armor reminds me of daedric armor from TES. I can't trade it for ammo anyway so I may as well keep it.

I don't really use power armor but I've tried them all and Tribal Power Armor is my fave. I like putting Sticky in Hellfire Armor. He's so adorable in it shooting people with his Dart Gun.

Tesla or Hellfire. For the non-power armor on my stealth character, I love the Chinese Stealth Armor combined with Poplar's Hood (and Shady Hat with the glitch), and Lag-Bolt's Shades. :ninja:

T - 45d

because it is the coolest looking imo, the Outcast version is fine as well

I don't like the designs of Enclave armor

I wish you could customize your own armor though, I'm the lone wanderer, god of the capitol wasteland, i want some unique armor

Personally, Im a PA junkie and have around twenty five suits of various kinds in my possesion. I would say my overall favorite would be Winterized T51-b armor because it keeps it's condition forever while keeping a really good DR, and not to mention it's kickass, however I like BOS and outcast armor for their sense of ruggedness and reliability, but any kind of enclave PA takes the cake when it comes to looking the coolest. Unfortuneately, I have not been to the Pitt yet, so I have not seen Ashur's PA, but since I plan to side with Werner ( I think that's how his name is spelled?) I'm looking forward to getting it.

Favourite Power Armor: none.
Reason: in FO3, your movement speed by default has had a +1000 Grand Devs Hammer Of Nerfing taken to it so you can never move faster than a turtle. Put on some power armor and an asthmatic snail can move faster than you. And as if that was not enough insult to the player, NPCs wearing the same power armor as you do not suffer the same movement speed penalties as you which are based on the currently worn Apparel weight and weapon selected.

I'm still trying to accept that no power armor is all that much better than Reilly's Ranger armor in damage reduction. Looks wise, hellfire. For my small arms character, I don't think I'll ever use power armor over Reilly's suit.

The downside is that you can't get eugene and the armor unless a ranger dies. Also I am willing to bet that power armor has a higher armor health so it wears down slower. Also power armor gives rad resistance.

I pretty much always go for the Winterized T-51B because although it has a little less DR than a regular T-51B, it has crazy high armor health so it doesn't really wear out. So it keeps it's DR high all the time, where a regular T-51B wears down and offers less protection.

Looks wise though I like the Tesla Armor or the Hellfire Armor.

My problem with the T-51B Power Armor from vanilla Fallout 3 is that I have no means of repairing it to full. The Enclave, Outcast, Brotherhood, and regular no-name Power Armor aren't compatible. I haven't tried the Medical Prototype version as it would only be a one-shot fix and would just delay the inevitable.:(

Since the devs decided to cheat the player by chronically nerfing the condition and maintainability of the top tier of power armor, I feel no remorse on the PC in resorting to cheating to fix the armor.

Spoiler

Open command console
player.srm
close command console
select item for repair

Thanks for the tip, Jenifur!

I think I'll switch back to my T-51B Power Armor and then utilize that "function".;)
