Favorite weapon!

Varies on my 3 main toons:

My Redguard love to use a 2H Sword/DaiKatana to maximum power.

My Argonian balance things with a Blade and a Shield. She also keep a bow and arrow for distance.

My Vixen prefers Halberd or its equivalent and a Crossbow.

A bow, by far. Great feeling of sniping off enemies without really breaking a sweat.

I voted for the one handed sword and the one handed axe.

The sword is just a classic. It's the symbol of kings, warfare, and decisive action.

The one handed axe, on the other hand, is just a brutal weapon. The Redas War Axe is one of my favourite weapons in Morrowind.

-Edit

Morrowind has Halberds.

Umm...

Where's the "Severed Nord Leg" option?

I guess I'll have to do with spears. I often use swords and daggers and axes more than most, but spears are just more awesome.

Spears were epic. just with some plain, rusty iron spear and cautious playing, you were able to pwn anything due to the impressive range.
What I also loved about spears was the fact, they started with huuuge damage on the low end yet hadn't that much more dmg in the daedric variety, compared to other weapons.
Some people may think, 40 damage is a tad bit too low for a daedric weap but the range and the ease of use clearly made up for it.
to have a similar effect with other weapons, says hammers, you had to toggle "always use strongest attack" or do some weird finger acrobatics, with a spear, it was just a constant back and forth out of range of the opponent, thrusting the spear up his ass till he died.
In addition, it was by far the most annoying weapon when whielded by hostiles.
The few guys with iron spears were so hard to deal with, it was not funny anymore. while guys with swords or maces were generally pummeling you down, the spear guys were just like "you get close to them and out of a sudden lose half your hp and drop to the ground, where they just hit you again."

just thinking about reviving my very first character again now, an unarmored argonian with spear!

I really like bows, as they're a little challenging to use.

After trying most weapons recently, I'll go with axes (even though they feel a bit big and clunky), followed by long blades. Marksman weaponry can be good at times too, but not always.

Most of the time, i use a sword or a bow. And when it's serious, a 2H sword.

I always play a mage, so I don't use weapons very much, but I would very much like to see staves return as blunt weapons with an option to enchant them with on-strike or ranged spells. The way the staves worked in Oblivion seemed more suitable for wands. Which isn't bad. I'd love to see wands in TESV.

maybe a staff that shots and can be used a weapon too :P, would not be so bad really, and yes ranged weapons re great but arrows were too slow in oblivion to be fun and damage was horrid compared to melee weapons.

Fists. I really wish that hand to hand wasn't so useless in the TES world, but to me nothing is cooler then a hero who can beat a troll to death with their bare hands.

Spears and Crossbows. Dammit Oblivion!

Seriously, I hope they add those back in for the next Elder Scrolls game, spears especially.
