Probably Morgan Freeman would be my top but I generally don't worry too much about it.

I don't really keep up with all the different actors and actresses out there, I can watch a show or movie a million times without having any idea who is playing which character. However there are a small handful I know and admire.

Beatrice Arthur, Rue McClanahan, Betty White, and Estelle Getty: All starred in my favorite TV show The Golden Girls. I don't really know much about their other works, but they made such a great cast in that show and it's sad that most of them are dead now.

Fran Drescher: I loved her in The Nanny. She adds so much spunk and charm to her character you can't help but like her, and as a person she's been through a lot which is something to respect her for. From being attacked, robbed, and [censored] in her own apartment, surviving cancer, and divorcing her husband who learned he was gay. She truely is a survivor.

Nikki Read: I liked her not for that crappy Twilight film, but for her role as the lead villain in Mini's First Time. She played a really twisted teenage sociopath who joins an escort service, seduces her own stepfather, murders her mother, then pins the blame on her stepfather as she walks free in the end. Her character Mini was so delicously evil and anybody who can play that kind of character so well is OK in my book.

In no particular order:

  • Steve McQueen
  • Orson Welles
  • Robert DeNiro
  • Al Pachino
  • Leonardo DiCaprio (His more recent stuff not the mushy garbage from before)
  • Daniel Day-Lewis
  • Harrison Ford
  • Katharine Hepburn
  • Humphrey Bogart (Especially in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre)
  • James Cagney
  • Tom Hanks
  • Clint Eastwood

Honestly, way too many to list.

I like any movie with Raquel Welch. I saw "Kansas City Bomber" (1972) at a drive-in theater.

[edit] I misspelled 'Raquel'. I discovered the mistake when I searched for pics. Heh heh.

I've liked him for years. Not one of my all time faves, but he's definitely up there.

Let's see...so many actors may start out as faves but over the decades turn into 'used to be faves' for one reason or another. Hm.

Chris Cooper
William H. Macy
Kevin Spacey
Morgan Freeman
Tim Roth
Tom Hanks
Robert DeNiro
Clint Eastwood
Paul Newman
Audrey Hepburn
Sean Connery
Robert Duvall
Jodie Foster
Alec Guinness
Meryl Streep (don't like her movies very often, but she's an awesome actress)
Cate Blanchett
Helen Mirren
Ian McKellen

....I'll stop there.

I think Liam Neeson would have made a better God than Morgan Freeman in Bruce Almighty.

I love how in Fallout 3 you can make your character Asian, but he's still voiced by Liam Neeson. I personally do not know any Asians with deep, resonating voices.

Oh, and I'd like to add Matthew Broderick, Leonardo DiCaprio (shocked at myself for leaving him off) and Matt Damon to my list from the first page.

Oh wow, that is a tough one. I love movies and I watch so many it's hard to even pick favourites there, not to mention actors.
Don't take this list too seriously, I'll be forgetting people, I already know that.
The order isn't important, I'm listing as I think of names, not by how good they are or how much I like them.

-Robert Downey Jr. (Perfect Tony Stark, I can not think of anyone else that would fit as well, I've never hated Robert in anything though, he's awesome in general)
-Aaron Eckhart
-Brad Pitt
-Michael J. Fox
-Christopher Lloyd
-Christopher Lee
-James Earl Jones
-Arnold Swarzenegger (One of the most entertaining actors of all time, if he runs for president, I will go to vegas, marry a stripper for a citizenship and then vote!)
-Mark Hamill
-Alec Guiness
-Ewan McGregor
-Liam Neeson
-Michael Caine
-Ian McKellen
-Patrick Stewart
-J.K Simmons (Don't actually know what JK stands for, he was Jonah Jameson in the Spiderman movies and B.R in Thank you for Smoking. He also voices the yellow M&M in a commercial...apparently)
-Christian Bale
-Roger Moore
-Natalie Portman
-Jeff Bridges
-George Clooney

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, going through all the movies I've seen to pick out actors and find their names would literally take years, but this list is mostly complete I think.
I made quite a few additions before posting as I suddenly thought of names, so this list is ending up long, as I said, i watch a lot of movies, and I like almost any type of movie.
In fact, I've thought of so many that I'm now pretty sure nobody will read this, so I can basically write anything I want at this point...

...Banana.

Tim Robbins
Will Smith
Tom Hanks
Viggo Mortensen
Johnny Depp (I hate many of the movies he's in, but I can't deny he's an excellent and funny actor)
Brad Pitt
Morgan Freeman
Bruce Willis
Samuel Jackson

...As you can see, I'm not very big into movies. Also, I'm quite a Nicolas Cage fan. He's not that good, I agree, but there's just something about him that I like. It's fun to watch him be put into serious roles, because he always unintentionally makes them hilarious. And whenever he's put in a comedic role (Bad Lieutenant, anyone?), it's even funnier. That and I think he's a badass.

Also, for the life of me, I can never think of any female actors for these topics. Makes me feel like a jerk for not recognizing some of the good performances by women. I do remember one that stood out to me: Nicole Kidman in The Others.
